Think my little boy has reflux. The doctor first gave me colief to try which did help him sleep better but he was still really unsettled after feeding so I took him back after 2 weeks. She said it should have worked if it was just colic but has now prescribed Gaviscon and to stop the Colief. I'm assuming it's pointless to use the two or have you used the two together as I still have some left? And how often did you give it to your LO and did it help? I'm going to give it as prescribed obviously. She said at first just to use it in two of his bottles and if he's ok with it, to then go up to 4 times a day. He's always really sick after feeds. Will the Gaviscon help with that? She said if this doesn't help, then she'll refer him to a specialist.

We give gaviscon 6 times a day, one sachet in 150ml. We have silent reflux here but I believe the gaviscon thickens the milk so it's more likely to stay down so yes hopefully no more (or atleast less) sick

Don't know about the colief though sorry as never used it.

Silent reflux here too. Gaviscon is our best friend. If it's going to help you will notice a drastic improvement in the first 24 hours. :)

See this is where doctors differ in opinions as my doctor told me that for it to have effect you use it in all bottles (max of 6 tho) so if on more than 6 bottles you can't. He told me that some say use it in couple of bottles but it's not effective because it only helps for that feed it's in (if that makes sense)

We used it in every bottle started on one sachet along with sma stay down milk and it improved instantly really. After a few weeks it got worse again so we upped it to 2 sachets and it improved again.

I haven't used colief so no advice on that I'm afraid.

We havent used colief but we do still use infacol along with the gaviscon. If I forget to give either, all hell breaks loose. Im not sure if infacol and colief do the same thing?

We put 2 sachets in each of her 6 feeds (5oz each) and it does the job, although sometimes she is still very unsettled.

My doctor wrote on the last prescription that i should try a bottle without gaviscon every now and then to see how she gets on... i did it yesterday, and it was terrible! I dont see the point in using it in only 2 bottles?

I go one with one without during the day. And every bottle at night.

The ones without the fussy ness and vomiting is getting less. But for those ones I feed him completely upright.

It stops the constipation that goes with using gaviscon I have found. :)
