GD and the Tummy Flu Question

So I have GD and have some horrible tummy bug. I'm suppose to take insulin before bed but I'm also suppose to eat something. I'm concerned about eating anything.

Should I still take my insulin? should I try to eat something??

Hi honey. Ooh not nice. I would say no to insulin or food but take a sugary snack to bed in case you do drop your sugars tho I doubt you will. I've just has normal but yuk cold and couldn't eat so I just ate small really lo carb snacks when I was Peckhish and had my short acting insulin if I managed a meal. I was ok on this snd it's passing now and my sugars have been fairly stable. You often find your sugars rise slightly when you are Ill but you can't help it. Just do your best and baby will be fine. I had to stop all insulin when I got sick or I could not get my sugar out of hypoglycemia!
