I refused the GD tests for various reasons (I've a a high bmi so they wanted me to have it)
I said no for so long that finally the consultant asked me if I'd do it without the drink but eating food instead so I did 2 weeks ago.... Well now I know it's notoriously inaccurate so naturally it came back abnormal. The midwife phoned the GD nurse and she said it was only just abnormal and to just note it down as normal because of the test being known to be inaccurate (complete waste of time me having it no?)
Anyway this week I've been diagnosed with pregnancy induced hypertension so having my notes reviewed they decided they'd like me to have the full GD test because of the abnormal reading :dohh:

I had it done today (hated every second it was horrid :nope:) but it's done thank goodness! But what the midwife did say is at this late stage of pregnsncy it can be unreliable as blood sugars stay risen for longer anyway now
So I'm fully expecting them to ring me with the results tomorrow saying I have it.
Moral of the story is..... Don't refuse the GD test just have it when they advise it! Lol

Anyone had this late on and got a normal reading?

I was diagnosed in my first pregnancy at 35+6 - I actually think I developed it at 28 weeks.

It was accurate in the sense that I developed GD in my second pregnancy too so it definitely wasn't just an end of pregnancy thing!

Thanks for the reply :)

Thankfully I passed phew!

I was diagnosed at 34 weeks. I had sugar in my urine at 33 weeks and took the GD test immediatly. Sophie did measure large in scans where as she'd been measuring small at the 20 week scan (went from 20th percentile overall to 86th overall). I definetly had it and now have type 2 diabetes. I wish I'd done the test at 28 weeks and controlled it from then, as I was rail-roaded into a c-section because she was meant to be very large.

Glad you passed!
