General chatter while we wait (and commentary on the "pull out method")

So last night DH grabbed my front from behind and it literally felt like he precisely squeezed my nipples (he did not), and I told him they hurt because I was going to start PMSing any time now. He goes “oh yeah, I can smell it on you”. EXCUSE ME? :saywhat: He says that my sweat smells different when I’m PMSing. I don’t even know what to say to that.
Also I’ve been spotting almost all luteal phase and had a solid temp drop today, so I’m pretty sure I’m out. I’m only 10dpo but that’s when my progesterone levels started dropping/first temp drop happened last cycle. Now part of me is like “if I’m pregnant he’ll tell me I smell different” lmaooo

@shaescott My husband always knows too. I hate it, but it’s impressive. Lol I’m sorry you’re feeling out. Hopefully time flies so you can proper ttc.

On the topic of gender. We have 3 girls and a boy. All 3 girls were conceived while I was on femara and on or the day before O day. My son was conceived naturally, but I hadn’t had a cycle in maybe 3 months so I have no clue how close to O day I conceived. I thought I had a cyst burst, but apparently it was ovulation. I wish I would have marked it.

Hi there - I just posted a thread but I'm not sure if it worked, so reposting here:

Hi everyone!
Just jumping on here to say "hi" :) And to ask your advice...
I am 44 years old and have two children. I had a third little boy in 2022 but he sadly passed away from an aggressive cancer last March. My husband and I are neither trying, nor actively preventing and this month, I am currently 11 days late for my period. We didn't DTD much last month (although I know it only takes one!).
A couple of maybe relevant factors are, I have been sick with a cold thing for over a month, I had a spot of spotting at what I assumed was ovulation last cycle. I have done FSH and TSH tests that don't indicate any problems and two home pregnancy tests were also negative. Obviously, this year has been particularly stressful so I guess that could be having an effect on my cycle but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I would be so grateful!
Thank you!
Px

@Pots I'm really sorry for your loss of your son, that's so terrible. As far as I know if your period is so late and you're not pregnant it means that you either ovulated later than normal or you have had a non ovulatory cycle. The luteal phase is 16 days max. The ovulation sticks only detect LH hormone and you can have an LH spike without actually ovulating. They say that you should go to a fertility specialist doctor after a year of trying but after 35 I think they say to just go after six months so maybe that could be something to pursue if you are inclined to. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that but I'm sending you lots of prayers that you will have a bfp soon.

Thank you so much for replying. I think you're right. Our bodies are weird, aren't they!

@Pots i echo autumnal, all good advice!

AF arrived yesterday and I spent most of my day napping with a heating pad lol. Oh well. DH is in the last week of his training program and just submitted his final project. I’m a very proud wifey lol. He has 2 exams over the next 2 days and then the placement exam, so he’s quite stressed. Please pray he does well, this job would be the road to me being able to be a stay at home mom!

Ohh no sorry to hear about AF. But that's great your dh is almost done his training. I hope the exams go well!! Will pray for you!!

I'm 6 dpo (well, the days almost over though) and feeling super exhausted.. don't know if it's because I volunteered on my 8 year olds field trip outside in the snow all day or .. something more fun!?!

@shaescott Boo for af! Praying all goes well with your husbands training!!
@autumnal Thats so brave of you to volunteer! Lol I hope it’s the latter reason!

It’s been cold and snowy here. I’m ready for winter to be over yet also don’t want time to go too fast.

yeah I can't get on some threads. Weird!
7 dpo today!! Almost there!!
We ordered a bunk bed for my boys today. They're so excited! We've just been doing a hick trundle sort of thing with a mattress on the floor lol. We used to have a bunk bed for them but when we moved we had to get rid of it because it was a twin over full and it was too big.

still waiting for them to fix parts of bnb :headspin: :coffee:
reading the forums keeps me busy on these long days :haha:. in one way times going
so fast and in another i just want it to be march already!

good golly I missed some things!
Shae--you mean to tell me you have been wasting money on tracking and hpt's when hubby could have just smelled you?? that's so funny. Also how are you just finding out this information?! That's pretty wild. Anyway sorry AF showed up but I'm so happy to hear that hubby is doing well so far! Prayers his exams go well, too. Ahhh to have your dreams realized would be awesome! I hope it all works out!
Jules--too funny how we're the opposite (with us having conceived 3 boys and 3 girls respectively close to O day). It makes me feel like it's really got to be more in hubby's control. I mean, doesn't that make the most sense anyway? There's no way they have exactly 50/50% x vs. y sperm. There must be factors that effect what they're making. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it. I hear you on not wanting time to fly...it does anyway though doesn't it? I don't mind the cold so long as I also get snow. We have gotten some this year but I want more. I'm snow greedy.
Pots--that's horribly tragic and breaks my heart. I am so sorry for your loss. Autumnal has great information and I second all of it. Good luck on your journey!
Autumnal--did you test yet??? I'll have to go lurk the other thread.

as for me...baby prepping continues...kind of. I'm collecting more supplies but have no idea where I'll be putting things. Sadly I'm going to have to re-organize my bedroom to accommodate a bassinet, which is too bad because I recently just set up a work space for myself to do some of my crafts next to my window (that gets good light), and now will have to probably set things up in the basement somewhere with lights. Might also have to throw a changing table with some storage in here for the early days. We're also planning a big renovation to the basement to make it into a living space. It's livable now but it's completely closed off from the upstairs so that it feels extremely isolated. We want to open up the wall that hides the staircase and put in a railing, as well and move some walls in the basement and put in carpet, so it feels more like part of the whole house rather than it's own isolated living space. Right now if we close the door to the basement, it's like an apartment down there totally separated from our main living level. The reason why is because we want to possibly move our oldest down to a room down there but not make him (or anyone who moves down there) feel like they are being kicked out of the family, haha. We actually have 2 rooms down there, one which is storage and another that could be a bedroom, but eventually if all boys want their own rooms, we could move storage around and open up that second room for another kid (potentially).

OH also hubby, who co-owns a business with 2 other men, just found out one of the owners is moving and wants to sell his portion back to the other 2 owners. This is pretty exciting because it means a pay increase (for both the owners via owner bonuses), which means he may be actually making enough for us to a lot of the renovations we've been talking about for years (windows, new deck, the aforementioned renos inside the house), plus start to actually build a respectable savings account, and maybe even start taking some vacations as a family (we've literally done this once ever for the first time in 2023, and haven't since). Anyway we'll see, but it's certainly fun to think about!

well I see the site still has some kinks to work out...sorry about the duplicate post!

@gigglebox that's so exciting about all the potential renovations!!! I bet your boy would love having the downstairs to himself when he's older at least haha my brother loved it as a teenager.

I'm 11 dpo and haven't tested today but got a bfn a couple days ago. Feels like af is coming though
