Don't feel bad! This is really common. I have them too. Actually, I hadnt seen them since I had them treated 17 years ago, but they've come back in pregnancy. I've been told they won't get in the way of the birth at all and there is no risk to baby. I honestly wouldn't worry about people seeing them. People won't get *that* close, right?
Thank you for reply, least I'm not the only one!! So will I always have them now then?? So worried they would harm baby and mess up the birth!! Yeah you would think she wouldn't get that close but as its her 1st grandchild she wants to see him crowning etc :-/ x
ummm i hate to say this but I find this weird. If my MIL wanted to watch my baby crowning I would say no. I wouldn't be comfortable with her looking at my lady parts in any case, to me that just isnt right. Perhaps explain to her that your not comfortable with her looking so close down there. Tell her you don't mind her in the room but some parts are not for INLAW eyes if you know what I mean.
Yeah, I mean, just a personal opinion here and not saying everyone should feel this way but there is no way in hell I would be comfortable with that. I can't even imagine.
As for HPV, it's literally as common as the common cold. Check out this link:

Nearly all sexually-active men and women get HPV at some point in their lives. This is true even for people who only have sex with one person in their lifetime.
