Hello all! Right I'm not sure if I have serious baby brain or the sonographer got my gestation wrong?! I had a viability scan done at 7 weeks which matches my dates and a second scan(I'm diabetic so checked a lot) Which also matches my dates. Wednesday(12th July) I had my dating scan. I thought I was 12+5 to which sonographer said 12+6 so pretty matched. I had to go and wait outside for a while as baby was super active and called back in to check heartbeat etc. Saw the midwife straight after and her report from the scan said 13+4 weeks. Now to me that's a big change! I told the midwife what the sonographer said a mere 5 mins ago and she said well that's what's on the report. Now by my calculations and cycles above. I don't see how I could be that gestation especially seeing as I was using opk so know when I ovulated. Am I just being confused or have they got something wrong?

Thanks Carys x

If the dates ON the scan matched your dates, I wouldn't question myself at all if I were you. I'd question the report being wrong. If they can't even get that right, what CAN they get right?

The sonographer said to me I was 12+6 but then her report came through 13+4. I'm mainly worried because I know I'm being induced at 37 weeks due to being diabetic. If he report is wrong baby would be a month early x

I don't know when you had your scan, but based on your chart and I think when it says your last period was, you would be 13 weeks today, depending on your cycle length. That makes the date she told you (12+6) more likely to be accurate. It's likely she just made an error in the report. I would question it now and request to be re-scanned or get a private scan done to check and refuse induction until that date.

I've just looked through the report more thoroughly and noticed the date of birth and surname isn't mine! So They've given me someone else's! I've got to the the diabetic consultant tuesday so I'll have a word then as they have already arranged scans/assessments and appointments to the date on the report!

Oh my gosh, that's horrible! Major breach of confidentiality and they could get in a lot of trouble for that as both the sonographer and midwife should have cross checked it. Glad you at least have an answer though!

Had ante natal this morning and told them. The report on the system was the correct dates to
mine but they've had to reschedule all ththe appointments! all sorted now though :)

DS3 was due October 14 last year. He was born October 2. The midwife and radiology always had matching dates but the specialist kept telling me that he was due Sep 30. Didn't matter how many times I corrected them so on my official labour notes, it states delivery was at 40+2 days or something stupid. I suspect it was a deliberate 'error' at their end because they kept trying to force me to consent to a section or induction of labour because of SUSPECTED GD or risk stillbirth. I think they wanted me to deliver on their timetable rather than let nature take it's course. Stick to your dates. At least you know where you are for sure. :)
