Anyone else have any experience with this? Just been diagnosed today at nearly 18 weeks and I have to do a 24 hour urine test in two weeks and will have to have blood taken often. I am so so worried :( It could turn into pre eclampsia which could mean taking baby out early and just a whole bunch of other issues. Any stories positive or negative please?

I had it last time but not until 34 weeks. Was put on beta blockers which bought it down then induced at 39 weeks as it went up again.

With yours being early it makes sense they'll want to monitor you regularly. The key to high bp is controlling it.

A friend had it early like you and managed to persuade the hospital to give her a bp monitor so she could monitor it herself. Worked out great for her as she learnt to recognise when she felt it rising and would rest. By the third tri it was back to normal and stayed that way, with no medication!! She'd had it through to the end of her first pregnancy so all the odds were stacked against her second time round.
