Getting my first tattoo today **PIC ADDED*

It's funny how the aftercare differs from artist to artist but I was also told to leave the clingfilm on for a few hours. I was advised to use conotrane cream - similar to bepanthen etc as it can be used as a nappy cream also but it's slightly more moisturising and less thick like a nappy cream. Worked a treat!
When I had my first tattoo done 15 years ago there was no talk of clingfilm - I had a dressing on it for a few hours then had to rub vasaline on it :)

Ive had a few tattoo's now and was always told to keep the cling film on for about an hour or two.

Just make sure you remember to use your bepanthan, it makes a huge difference, and always wash it off before you put more on, and you should be fine. And most of all DONT SCRATCH IT, it will itch in a few days when it starts scabbing over

I was told the same as this too

I was told the clingfilm for a hour or 2, then just use savlon, on both of mine from 2 different places.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I was wearing the cling film like they told me to (was told to wear it for 24hrs) but it was sweating and that kinda made it hurt slightly so this morning i took it off (had it on for about 19hrs) So i took the cling film off because it was doing my head in :haha: i've been washing it before i put the cream on  and so far i have put the cream on 3 times today, always with about 4 hours inbetween each application.

with the aftercare me and my DH (7 between us) have always took any coverings off as soon as we've gotten home, and just put bepanthen onn whenever the tat feels dry or tight. Also, rub it in quite firm, and DO NOT PICK, it'll go patchy and not attractive!! x

it's gorgeous btw x
