I am a bit stuck on what to get my Dad for Christmas this year. He is a wonderful cook so I want to get him something kitchen related.

He wouldn't like anything decorative or humorous, it needs to be something he would actually use. I got him the grow your own seeds kits a few years ago so they are out. I was thinking maybe a recipe book holder, or a pasta maker, but I am not 100% convinced by those ideas. Or maybe a nice recipe book, though he already has loads... :shrug:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What about a cookery hamper? You could make one by putting things like a cook book, cooking equipment (IKEA would be cheap for that bit), and some basic ingredients in. Or you can buy pre made ones;

I was going to suggest a hamper too, we do my dad a cheese and crackers one, goes down a treat!

Does he make bread or pizza? My hubby is into this, so I've got him a pizza stone. Also there is a fantastic book called 'pizza pilgrims' I'd highly recommend!

Otherwise, how about a nice chopping board- think you can get engraved/personalised ones online?

Someone once gave us a whole bunch of exotic spices and other cooking things. That was fun! Spices get expensive quickly and some are really a luxury.

Thanks ladies! I ordered some individual bits from that Sous Chef website (thanks OmiOmen, I had never heard of that website, its great!) and will make him a hamper. I think he will be really chuffed!

Josef and josef colour coded chopping boards are fab! X
