OK, I'll admit it. I browse the charts on FertilityFriend like they were the race horses at Saratoga. I keep hoping that if a few are EXACTLY like mine with ovulation, coverline & post-O temps and they got preggers - that *I'll* get preggers.

I'm driving myself crazy.

I do ovulate and the OPKs work fine for me, so as long as I use those I should be able to figure out when I ovulate.

This month I'm on progesterone and next month (provided I get a BFN next week, still hoping for good news but UGH, hard to get too excited) I'll be on Clomid and progesterone... so I'm pretty sure the drugs can mess up your temps. Is that right? Am I crazy? Should I just keep temping, hoping for a sign???

I find it stressful to temp so I just don't do it.....Progesterone will cause an increase in temps.

Thanks vineyard... it'll be nice not to have to get up at 6am on the weekends too, just to temp...

I temped for awhile and got on with it well, but like you found myself comparing charts all day long, and getting no work done

I stopped temping tho because i was going insane and needed a break,xx

I temp just to confirm ovulation - sometimes the OPK's don't work for me. But when I'm on meds I stop. My temps are crazy on those things and they mean nothing.

But I like to know what day AF is arriving, so I do temp when I think she is close - just waiting for the drop. It also stops me from POAS 18 times a day. If my temp dips I won't test.

One day, we will all be out of this section!!!! :happydance:

honestly this is the first month of Meds for me (provera and clomid) and my temps are finally stable and readable..

this is the first time i have seen a clear rise.. ad yes after Provera my temps rose a bit but on clomid they stayed pretty stable... :)

If you do ovulate and you BD regularly then there is really no need to temp.

i used to temp, i did it for 2 months when i first started taking my clomid tablets but i work shifts and my sleep patterns are always changing and im forever waking up in the middle of the night and not getting more than 3 hours sleep at a time. my charts looked a mess because of inaccurate readings and my ovulation dates didnt match with when i was getting my + opk's so i just gave up. now i rely completely on opk's and life alot easier! better than waking up and thinking about taking my temp 1st thing!

It's just stressful. If you ovulate regularly then all temping does is confirm that. We can listen to our bodies. We know all the signs. We don't need this one thing to confirm what we already know, after all.

Why stress ourselves out by adding yet another 'test' into the mix?

this thread has been interesting for me as i have just started to temp (have only been doing it a week!) i've now had to stop because my DD and i have been unwell and her sleep patterns have had to been changed. was... 12am-12pm now 8pm-7.30am alot better. as soon as i am better and stop yacking up everything i eat, i will continue to temp again!
not looking forward to it but hey! i am willing to try anything to know when my best dates for conception are. x x x x x

The thing is, though, unless you have a regular cycle then temping does not really predict anything. All it does is confirm that you did ovulate. By the time your temps rise it's too late. You've already ovulated.

Cervical Mucus, mood changes, cervical position and openness, these are all better indicators. OPKs, too, predict the LH surge BEFORE ovulation. All temping does is tell you it already happened.
