I'm pro-me fuck-you
:muaha:

BTW that highland link is bloody discusting! Woman or man who wrote it (despite it saying a woman) needs a slap!'ed me anyway!

i didnt mean to put all bf'ers under one umberella just a few comments on here made mad, it was not intended to upset anyone or group people together.

sorry if i was missunderstood and if i offended anyone. :( it wasnt my intention atall.

x

I certainly wasnt upset or offended by what you said - I totally understood what you were saying and thought it was a valid point :)

BTW wasn't aimed at anyone  lol

*Change topic* How did you scan go Lisa? :wohoo:

haha made me laugh!

this thread is longer and more boring than Jordans ex-men list?! a new topic needs starting methinks! x

My sister CHOSE to FF from day one. She just didnt want to BF. My own mother didnt want to. Neither of them even wanted to try. My sister ended up trying once in the hospital because the MWs suggested it and she felt she wanted to. I dont know her reasons for not wanting to and TBH I dont need to know them. I supported her with her choices all the way both through her birth and with her feeding, even though they are polar opposites to my choices - so what, we love, respect and support each other as sisters, friends and mothers. My mum and my sister are very proud of me as a mum too.
I think that just because when I'm giving a new mum advice under most scenarios I try to steer them away from formula, somehow mums who FF assume that's because I'm against it. That's simply not the case. I do that because of the biological and physical implications to their breastfeeding.

That was very nicely put hun. Like I say, I wish all BF mums felt like you! :hugs:

ETA: And I know the vast majority of BF mums DO in fact feel that way. It's a shame that there are a few that either can't or won't accept that point of view, and by doing so give the impression that all BF are "anti-FF", which is blatantly NOT the case.

And sad to say, I'm quite sure there are some FF mums who are the same (but in reverse!).... does that make sense?!?

I totally agree with you here, I think most bfing mums aren't "anti-formula" and most ffing mums aren't "anti-breast", it's just the few who give the rest of us a bad name :grr:

I think you're right though Lisa, much of the "pressure" on the bfing forum really comes down to the advice which is given to new mums about formula top ups being a bad idea etc - and it's not an anti formula thing at all, it's just the correct advice about getting bfing established properly IF that's what you want to do. You gave me this exact advice and it was the last thing I wanted to hear because giving the top up was the easy way out - but the advice was correct and that's why you gave it. It didn't make me feel pressured into not giving formula though, just armed me with information to make my own decision

I don't find that anti-formula at all. I would give that advice to someone who wanted to breastfeed as well. It seems like some people think FF moms are extra sensitive. I don't think so, it is people with the rude comments about how it shouldn't be an option or that it is poison or that we aren't making the best choice for our families that are offensive.

I agree Wendy and again I dont get that impression from you at all but I definitely have from other member who have said as much directly.

Anyways I need a breastfeeding person to please pm me, preferably someone who pumped or someone who had breast implants, not sure if that is anyone on this board lol.

I figure most of the breastfeeding people are reading this thread  if not I will go ask in the BF part. :D

Because I test that damn early Kari that everyone knows I'm pregnant before the bedsheets are cold....

:dohh: It's just like, everyoe zooms along so quickly, and I looked at your ticker, and it was 8 weeks! I was thinking What!?? haha, and I was late congratulating you too...so it felt like you should have been furthur! lol:flower:

I bf and have not said a single bad thing about FF. I think the topic was started about GMTV being biased (as usual) and i must admit like Lisa said - the term BF Brigade really really pisses me off..... like its bad to BF and we are some kind of bloody gang??!!!

I am friends with FF mummies, co sleeping mummies, weaners at 4 months, BLW mummies.......... why say that??

I know some BF mums are judgemental but most arnt and thats not nice

Thanks, I know it was not really aimed at you!!! Ryder, are you not sorry for the comments to people like me then????? Who has not said one bad thing yet I am part of a gang/brigade?

You are one of the most judgemental people on this forum I am afraid......

She wasn't directing it to you. It was to the few people on here who time and time again put down formula moms like they are committing child abuse for feeding their kids formula. It is always the same couple people who have this f'n attitude like their shit doesn't stink.

 that made me laugh, I know what you mean but I just dont like to feel like I am being grouped in because I BF! x

I understand what you are saying too but when you categorise people then EVERYONE who falls under the label feel offended. It's like when Ron Atkinson (football manager for those who dont know) used the term 'bloody lazy n*gger'. ALL black people are offended. The fact he then said he didnt mean it 'like that' or it wasnt directed at someone personally doesnt mean it's any less offensive.

off topic, but i feel really sorry for ron atkinson! i was watching celeb wife swap the other night and it made me feel dead sad for him! i genuinely dont think he thought it was as offensive as it is. OH pointed out, rappers use it all the time, and he's probs just thought it was ok to say it cos they do iykwim?? and like he said on the show, actions should speak louder than words, he's been instrumental in bringing black players into football, but he makes one comment and its ruined his life :(

its no wonder world peace is an unattainable fantasy when mums get so agitated and snippy over feeding their babies. This thread is just the same old nonsense rehashed again-personally i think admin should stop all similar threads dead in their tracks from now on as not only is it boring but completely pointless. The fact is all our babies are well looked after and well nourished and lucky they live somewhere where mums can indulge themselves arguing the point like this xx

I understand what you are saying about these threads being stopped as soon as possible, believe me it crossed my mind as I get fed upof the sameold stuff, but it is not that simple just to close a thread, we then get threads asking why they were locked, people thinking they can't express opinions, freedom of speech etc...
THe other thing is the OP did not post this as a FF vs BF thread, it just went that way yet again.

If anyone does not like the way a thead is going, you can always report it for us to review, but we have been watching it anyway.

I havent replied to this thread as I genuinly do not have anything to say on the subject, but I DID want to say that that anti-breastfeeding thread was really, really awful and made me cry :nope: I cant believe someone would think that-its such a shame.
