Going away for the weekend without my babies!

My twins are 2 and we're still feeding as much as 4 times a day. This weekend I'm going away without them for the first time. Wondering if anyone has any tips for keeping up my supply and encouraging my babies to keep feeding when I return? I'll be gone for three full days!

I doubt you will have a problem with them wanting to still nurse when you come back! Especially if they still do it 4x/day. Maybe hand expressing a few times a day while you are away will help with the supply?

Thanks for the reply nicem815! I'm hopeful they'll still be interested. I was wondering if I should pump at all....I've never had a supply issue but the length of time makes me nervous.

I'd take a pump if nothing else but to relieve pressure and avoid potential mastitis

Agree it is more about your health than supply at this stage. Suddenly going from feeding two toddlers 4 times a day to nothing is not what I'd want to do cold turkey. If you don't have a pump already you may find a manual one is better value for just a few days. If you have ever been successful at manual expression that is a free alternative, but you really do want to make sure that you don't let yourself get painfully engorged.

Made it through the weekend! Holy cow it was unpleasant! Brought a pump and managed to pump a little twice a day but it was still super uncomfortable. Got back and the babies went right back to it (thankfully!) Thanks for the advice Mamas!

Glad you made it through! That must have been SO uncomfortable. Well done not only successfully breastfeeding twins, but past two years! That's incredible!
