So on Monday 4/10, 3 days ago I had my 12 week appointment where I had my NT ultrasound scan and bloodwork done. (This, as most of you probably know is the test to guage the statistical likelihood your baby will have Down Syndrome.) Anyway, so they told me that day that the ultrasound scan looked good, that the Nuchal fold was "nice and thin". I still haven't gotten the results of the bloodwork back though, and therefore, don't have my official statistical risk. Thank God, I know that the ultrasound results were good. That does give me some peace of mind, but argh, I'm going crazy:wacko: waiting for the final official results. Does anyone know how long it normally takes to get the results? I have heard that no news can be good news in this case, but it would certainly ease this mama-to-be's mind if I knew for certain!!

They should contact you with the results either way. My last pregnancy the NT scan showed thicker and they had us tested but everything turned out fine. It took 2-3weeks before I got my results. My perinatal specialist said it's helps but unless it's an amino even the blood work isn't always spot on so don't stress to much about it, I am sure it will be fine. :)

Are you UK based? It takes up to 14 days, you'll get a letter through the post. Mine was around 9 days I think. Obviously, probably different in different countries!

Don't stress out about it, sounds positive from your scan!

SonnyH: Nope, I'm from the US. I wish I would've thought to actually ask the Nurse Practitioner how long it would take to get the results. Duh! You're right though, the fact that the ultrasound looked good is encouraging!

What type of bloodwork did you have done? If it was something like the harmony or panorama test, it can take up to two weeks. My doc called me with the results after 12 days.

The ultrasound is very reassuring!

Michellebelle: I think it was Papp-A, hcg, and one other, but I'm not sure off the top of my head.:) I've decided to try not to stress about it!

I'm in the uk. They told me that I'd get a call within about 3 working days if I was high risk. If I was low risk, I'd receive a letter sometime in the next 2-3 weeks.

Good news! They called today and the results came back negative, which means baby's most likely healthy and no amniocentesis!!
