Well its definite I have had a missed miscarriage. Have had scans since 5 weeks there was a bit of growth but the baby was never seen and yesterday the sac was collapsing. Havent had any bleeding or anymore cramps so have decided to have d&c. I cant wait any longer just want some closure on this now. The thing is i really wanted it to happen naturally thats why I have waited this long. Really scared of going into hospital, can anyone tell me what to expect?

Thanks xxx

Sorry i dont have any advise but i didnt want to read and run

So sorry for your loss

Hi honey, firstly I am so sorry to hear what you are going through :hugs::hugs:, I know how distressing this can be.

I had a D&C (ERPC) on May 8th. Luckily it is a quick procedure so you will be able to go home shortly after. I was hoping my hubby could sit with me until I had the procedure but no visitors were allowed. The staff were all lovely, The surgeon came and spoke to me shortly after I was admitted and talked me through the procedure, this is where they tell you all the risks associated as you have to sign a consent form, which worried me, but I was told the riskes were low. Then the anesthetiest talked me through the preparation and the op any allergies etc and what to expect which was great as it helped me relax a bit. It is nerve wracking waiting for your turn, but believe me if I could do it you can honey.
When I went to the op theatre they hooked me up told me they were giving me the anesthetic and next thing I knew I was in the recovery ward with a nurse looking over me telling me everything went really well. And the surgeon gave me lots of hope of having a successful pregnancy next time!

I was tired after the op and stayed for a couple of hours ate some toast then went home and took it easy for the rest of the day. I had some slight cramps for a day or two bled lightly for 12 days after.

It helped me move on, the worst part of my mc was waiting for it to happen!

Sending you a big  and another one:hug:

Thanks for your reply, this has made me feel alot better, sorry to hear you had to go through this too  It has been the worst part waiting for it to happen which is why I need to have this done so I can move on. I just cant help but worry and hate hospitals!!!

Glad this helped, I went in without knowing what to expect so forearmed in fore warned! If you want to know anything else just get in touch.

This forum really helped me get through my mc. Hope you've got people around you to give you hugs, just remember cry when you need to. :hugs:

I'm so sorry for your loss  I'm in the same type of situation right now and completely understand your desire for closure. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Really feel for you.

I'm going through the same thing at the moment. Having had heavy bleeding last week I went to the hospital and they gave me a scan but said although they could see something they were not sure what it is (either the Sac or a Blood Clot). I have another sacn booked for next monday and am going through the agonising wait to find out for definate. From all the bleeding I have had I am in no doubt that I have miscarried and if so I am hoping that by monday (as awful as it sounds) that it has been washed away because then, like you, I can get on with my life. I don't know much about the D&C so am feeling extremely worried about the thought of going through it.

I hope it all goes ok for you. It's nice to talk to people that know how I am feeling and can give their support.

Sorry to hear what your going through, the waiting is horrible. Hopefully you wont need the d&c, but from what I have been told it is nothing to worry about. A quick and simple procedure, I think its just the thought of having it done that makes it worse. I felt quite alone and like no one really understood how I felt, until I come on here. I know its a horrible thing to happen but it does seem quite common and is reassuring to know that people have gone on to have healthy pregnancies. Its been such a rollercoaster even when its all over I dont think I am ready to try again straight away, I couldnt cope if this happened all again.
I really hope Monday goes ok for you, let us know how you get on xxx

I miscarried my little one naturally, but waiting for the bleeding was hell. They wouldn't give me a D and C, so I don't know what to expect, but I am ever so sorry to hear about your loss. We are all here for you, and you'll find everyone on this forum so supportive.
Sending you sincere sympathy and lots of .
xxxx

Thinking of you today. If you need anyone to talk to, I have been there. We lost our little one a month ago. (through d and c)

Sending you  Take care of yourself.

Just an update for you all... started spotting yesterday was still going to go for d&c today but woke up to get ready and (sorry if TMI....) couldnt get off the toilet or stop throwing up, I felt so ill was so hot thought I was gonna pass out :( Hopsital advised me to stay at home unless I get really bad and have rescheduled for Monday. The bleeding has been red and heavy since this morning but no clots yet and not much pain so I assume the worst is still to come. I am upset I never made it to the hospital because I was looking forward to it all being over and finally moving on. Hopefully it will be over soon. Thanks for all your support xxxx

Sorry you have had a bad day.

Hope everything turns out ok on Monday! Try to relax this weekend.

 i know how you feel, just a question though, is throwing up a normal symptom?

Sending you hugs. I am so sorry you've had a bad day.

:hugs: I also had a blighted ovum and had a d & C at nearly 13 weeks

Im not sure my husband phoned the hospital and they said I could have a virus cos my immune system will be low, but I think it was just the pain and the fact I was so hot, could also be something to do with the hormones?! I havent been sick since this morning and have managed to have some toast, just sitting here waiting for it to get worse though :(

have u felt or been sick then?
