My baby is 5 weeks old and suffering with terrible colic/gripe. Screaming for hours on end and bringing his milk back up. have tried infacol and doctor prescribed colief but hes still pretty bad, i have just bought Gripe water from boots to try? has anybody tried both and can tell me which they thought was better for their baby?? xx

Gripe water didnt work at all with my LO, it made her burp but that doesnt help the colic as colic is wind trapped in the bowel, Colief was an absolute life save for me, i used it with comfort milk and my LO was like a new baby after a few days. I couldnt get it on prescription as Dr said its only prescribed on NHS for babies who are lactose intolerant. If you baby is being sick a lot, it sounds a bit more like reflux than colic

Yeah if your LO is being sick perhaps try Infant Gaviscon in his bottles.

I tried gripe water with Infacol didnt help much.. went onto comfort which helped a little, then changed to Hipp Organic Milk and changed bottles to Tommee Tippee from Dr Browns and thats helped loads. I thought Dr Browns were the best as well!

Its so hard to treat and every baby is different too, Thankfully my LO has got a lot better but think with the change in bottle and his body just maturing.. its hard going but will get better.
But maybe try a different milk and bottle combo if it doesnt help? Although my baby didnt scream at the same time every night for hours.. it was an hour or 2 after each feed which made me think it was a digestive problem with wind and going to the toilet. Hope it gets better xx
