I'm new to posting on Gumtree and am a bit confused.

When you recieve a message, do you just reply using your own e.mail or is there somewhere on the site you send the message.

I have recieved two messages from different people and have replyed via my personal e.mail but haven't recieved any replies so not sure I'm doing it right.

Any tips

I'm new to it aswell, how do you know if you've got a message or any interest in your add?

If you select the option 'Contact by E-Mail' there will be a link on the posting to send a message. The inquirer clicks the link and is taken to a page to send the message. The message is sent to the server then forwarded to your personal address. You reply to the message the way you would any other e-mail and again it's sent to the server then forwarded to the inquirer. Never will the inquirer or yourself find out what the other persons address is unless you chose to disclose it.

If you haven't received a response it's simply because they haven't responded.
