Had my first scan today........

So I had my first US this morning at 8 weeks....and I'm having twins. I still don't think it has sunk in yet. We were trying for our third (and last) baby and now it looks like I'm going to be a mother of 4. They were both measuring right on schedule, heart beats looked great. I'm just in shock, and I'm terrified to be perfectly honest. My second son will barely be two when the twins come and my oldest is only 4. Please tell me this is possible???!!!

congratulations, double the love in 1 go! i can imagine its a huge shock and its alot to take in. a pregnancy book im reading has a bit on reacting to twin news, it says to try not feel overwhelmed and give yourself time for the news to sink in-mayb even keep the news to yourself+partner a week or so to let yourself get used to the idea. then tell close family/friends first who u know will b supportive (and not scare u with horror stories) then wider friends who may b less sensitive. good luck

Aw congratulations. Its definitely possible. You just need a routine from day one. My son was 18 months old when my twins were born and we managed and continue to manage now hes 3 and they're 18 months old Won't deny that its damn hard work sometimes but the good outweighs the bad.

If you haven't already, come and join us in the Twins and Multiples pregnancy. Your twin pregnancy will be very different to your singleton ones and you may feel you need a little support. Well there is a LOT of support from mums of multiples over there who will be happy to help or just listen to you along the way.

You will be fine I never wanted or expected twins but I wouldn't be without them now. And if I'm honest, I feel sorry for those who don't have twins because they don't get to see the special bond between them x

i prayed for just the one as dd will be 21months when im due. couldnt manage twins aswell.

Ive had dreams everynight that im expecting twins, which will be crazy as ds1 will only be 18 months when bubba due.

Wow congratulations!! just curious - did you have different symptoms this time? I'm a twin myself and just cant shake the feeling that i am expecting twins...

Yes, somewhere in the back of my mind I had a nagging feeling that I may have more then one in there. My first two pregnancies, I had zero morning sickness, this time I've been feeling nauseated off and on a lot for the last 2 weeks. I am significantly more exhausted then I ever was with the other pregnancies. I run a lot, and was able to continue that well into both of my previous pregnancies, at 8 weeks I'm struggling to complete 3 miles.

But the biggest thing is that I swear I already have a bump, usually I barely show at all until the second trimester, but starting a few weeks ago I noticed a fullness to my lower abdomen and now I swear its a full on bump.

So yeah, I had in the back of my mind that perhaps it was something more, but I just keep telling myself that all pregnancies are different. As soon as she put the wand on me today, I saw two sacs and I immediately knew.
