Hi there!

I'm 37 and I've been TTCing for 7 months.
I decided to try acupuncture. Has anybody had a go at it?
I've got my first appointment next week but I'd love to hear your feedback if you've tried it.
I so want it to work...[-o<

I hope you don't mind me dropping in.
Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can be very helpful in ttc. It basically helps regulate your entire system...get it into a good rhythm. I have known several people that have gotten pregnant while using acupuncture. Keep in mind though, that it can take a few months to work.
There also used to be a great thread in the ttc section on acupuncture. It might be interesting to look up.
Good luck and I hope you get your bfp very soon.:hugs:

I was doing it when I got pregnant with my son in 2008. I had started in June/July and got pregnant with him our first cycle at the end of August. I have just started back as we are working on #2.

Acupuncture works, not sure why it does. But I do remember the only days I would feel good my first trimester was when I had acupuncture. If it had anything to do with me getting pregnant so quickly, I can't say. Maybe it did, but maybe I just got really freaking lucky. But the way I see it, it can't hurt....much. haha

I started Acupuncture in March in preparation for my 1st IVF that started in June. I found it really helpful, My therapist mainly treated infertility and the advice and information she gave me was so helpful whilst going through the IVF. I found that my overall health improved my periods were a lot more regular and a lot less painful and I got pregnant after our 1st cycle, So I think it can't do any harm and it really is worth a try xxx

Hi there,

I'm 37 coming up 38 and was ttc about 10 months when I started acupuncture - conceived the first month I started. Was having weekly sessions. Coincidence or not? Don't know, but my hunch is that it made a difference.

Good luck.

x

There was are several studies, particularly in a study group of ivf patients that showed those with acupuncture had a vastly improved conception rates than those without (as much as 20%). I have also had lots of recommendations from people doing TCM *traditional chinese medicine*, acupuncture and even reflexology. I once knew a woman who had trouble conceiving and only did once she saw a TCM doctor. She now has 2 sons.

Here's a link to my local centre i was suggested id go to by a friend..just some info really https://www.hcclinic.co.uk/infertility.html

Im seriously looking into this and booking my appointment soon :)

Wow, love this thread about acupuncture:flower:

I never had it, sounds good:thumbup:

I've had chinese herbs and acupuncture, still seeing the therapist once or twice a month. I really hated the herbs she gave me which made me really sick and have horrible stomach pain. Used on and off for 2 months. The acupuncture has a soothing effect though and it does help with the cycle. But I am not sure how much cause my acupuncturist demanded an exercise plan and more healthy eating. I can't always do the 4 day a week exercise. 4 months no pregnancies and she's blaming my exercise regime and she says any healthy couple should try for at least 10 months. So not sure what she is on about. I'm considering changing the acupuncturist or giving up all together in fact.

The basal body temp charting is another pain which could have an obsessive effect unfortunately cause you need to do it everyday. Which focuses your concentration on your body a lot. But I would still recommend the Chinese medicine. It sure does have a positive effect and it might work wonders on some.

Well I had my appointment on Monday and it felt very relaxing.
I am going back on Saturday and will go regurlarly till I get my BFP!
I am feeling very positive about it!!

ALL the women around me (work, friends, random girls at the gym etc..) are pregnant even the ones who didn't want to!!
I think it's about time it's MY TURN!! :winkwink:

I tried the temperature for a couple of months at the beginning of TTCing but I gave up after I broke my thermometer.

Regarding your acupuncturist I think you should try to find another one instead of giving up completely. They are too many postitive feedback about it not to give it chance.:hugs:

Thanks for the info Twinkle. I will have a look at his website.
I am definitely sure that acupuncture will sort out your AF problem. And for the baby well they know what they are doing especially as they are specialized in ladies of our age.

I had my 2nd appointment yesterday and I love it!
I even decided to carry on having a treatment once a month after I get pregnant, it is so relaxing and I believe in Qi so I'm pleased to balance the energy.
:dust: to you
:hugs:

Twinkle, I am curious about Dr Kite. I checked out the web site which looks interesting. Please update your experiences as u go along. :)
