I'm desperate! Oscar around three months began to sleep great. Only waking once at night and having a couple of good naps a day. This lasted about a week and since then it has got progressively worse to the point where now at four + months he won't go down without a massive battle and at night he wakes every hour or MORE.

I'm seriously going insane. We have tried all the usual things and he defied it all. Won't have a paci won't be swaddled. Won't even be cuddled or rocked to sleep. He just wants boob and then wakes up and throws a tantrum the minute I take him off. His latest is basically CIO in my arms after much screaming and thrashing he'll zonk out but them start all over if I so much as move.

His ears have been checked. We've started babyrice. He's had some infant acetomenophine incase teething. Nothing is working. We have come to the conclusion that he wakes between each cycle and will no longer self settle.

I find it extremaly hard to let him cry. It really gets my stomach in nots but since his defiance of all my attempts to make things as comfy and soothing and nice sleep inducing as possible. I'm completely stumped not to mention exhausted. Oh and he will bf four hours if I let him.

We've got the no cry nap solution book but I was confounded to find we have aleady been doing as she suggests to no avail. Helllllpppppp!!!!!

Has anyone else done ably sleep train with a baby this young. And what worked for you?

You said he'll fall asleep after CIO in your arms, how about his cot? With blackout curtains, with nothing to disrupt him?

Kyle used to sleep great but the past week hes been wakening once, and crying for a full hour, I can't lift him cause he crys more, and he doesn't want milk or a drink..i've tried giving him medicine incase he had an upset tummy but nothing. He'll jst cry for an hour then fall asleep again :S

Maybe it's the baby rice upsetting his belly? I would try stopping that for now to see if it makes a difference, or atleast not do it anywhere near bedtime. Try setting a routine for him, at the same time everynight you do the same things...like say playtime, bathtime, read a story, have a final nursing session then to bed. It will probably take a few days atleast, if ti works, but then he will start to get into the routine and know that after these things its bedtime, keep all of it calm and quiet so he has a chance to wind down before having to go to sleep. Good luck!

We are already doing the bedtime routine and have been for a couple of months now. Pretty sure the rice isn't bothering him too as this all started before introducing the rice and besides he hardly has any. He's just got something about not being able to fall asleep and it makes him really upset.

I'm pretty sure Ema had to do some sleep training with Jacob, maybe you could PM her? I don't think she did it with him this young though.

:hugs: I hope you find a solution soon!

Hi Ya. I know someone who had a similar situation with their little girl. They ended up consulting someone who helps with their routine etc. I think her health visitor gave her some information. She had to pay for it but it was worth it as her LO now sleeps through but it took a long time and lots of patience. They started it when she was around 4 months old and she is now nearly 11 months. The sleep counsellors helped her with her routine, feeding times etc, what time to put her down for naps in the day. Her LO was not sleeping day or night and they were all exhausted and she constantly wanted to BF. Try asking your health visitor for some information. I hope he settles again for u soon. If u need anymore Info PM me xx

Ah this sounds good but I'm in America so no hv. Am taking him to see the pediatrician tomorrow.

Good luck... Ive never had to sleep train... luckily we've had a good routine since the beginning and it seems to have stuck... other then a couple nights here and there.

I hope he settles soon! Maybe he is just going through a growth spurt?

I think growth spurts settle down in a week or so. This has been going on for a month now and getting worse. I highly suspect the reflux now though as he was getting really good and we had a sweet routine. Still trying to stick to that adamantly but he just wakes up every half hour to hour and it's an ordeal to get him to calm down and go back to sleep. Off to docs this afternoon. poor baba.

Back from docs. Feeling pretty crap actually. No answers, no different reflux med and instead horrible alimentum formula for 24 hours to see if he is allergic to anything. Despite the fact I have told them that he was doing great so why would he suddenly be allergic. And I'm to make an appointment with a GI specialist.

My poor baba. I'm so sad and tired and fed up. I just wanna make him feel better and help him sleep good.

yes i did sleep training but didn't let her cry it out. PM me if you'd like the details or info x
