Hate my driving lessons!

The theory questions were fine but the perception is weird. I also passed first time by 1 point lol x

Rhi_rhi have you got an iPhone? I seriously recommend the DSA app, it has both theory and hazard perception and its exactly what you should expect at your test. I practiced the theory bit over and over and when I got to the test I must've found at least 3 questions I had answered 30mins earlier on the way in on the bus.
That app is amazing.

Im taking lessons at the moment, when i was 19 i took 9 months of lessons ( double a week )i just couldnt get the hang of it got to the point my instructor was taking the mick... it really depressed me so i gave up,

September time we and my hubby spoke and i said after christmas i want to start lessons again, but he said why wait... we not really got the money, but it just means i cut back on certain things i would normally get myself... anyways i started end of october.... and to my surprize i am doing a hell of a lot better than last time.. he said i must of remembered things from the lessons i had before... as my instructer only lives 2 doors away from me.. i only pay £30 for a double lesson which is great as before i was paying £42

i have a double lesson in a hour and i will be starting on manoeuvres. dreading it as i no full well this will hold me up big time...

i think this time round i no i need to pass... i need to do it for me and my kids... i hate relying on people...

Dont put any pressure on yourself.. i have set my self a do able goal of at least being put in for my test by my 27th birthday next july...

at the moment im more worried about doing my theory... as i keep reading so many people who have to take 3 or 4 times.... i think once i pass that... i can relax a little and enjoy the lessons a bit more.. have you done your theory yet? x
No I haven't done my theory yet, plan to do it in the new year when xmas is out the way!

Yea I have been using this, have got alot more knowledge now!

I pay £20 for an hour every week which isn't too bad, and I like my instructor so don't feel the need to change really, some things just don't 'click' with me, and I feel so stupid sometimes!!:dohh:

I passed my theory :) was surprised tbh :)
Now the wait for the test... it is a minimum 8 week wait here :( and my teacher is going on holiday till January... i'm not pleased :(

Testing centres can be booked up quite far in advance so it's always good having an idea what the waiting list is for your area and factoring in when you think you'll be ready or you could be paying for a lot more driving lessons if you're ready and then book :)

Keep checking for bookings/cancelations. My instructor said just keep trying and let him know. x

I didn't like my lessons to start with, but i just got on with it as i was too stubborn to quit! I learnt in a manual and now drive an auto and my god i love it, although if it wasn't for medical reasons we wouldn't of looked at buying it.

Also to the previous poster saying its harder to learn as you get older! I had never driven a car until my 1st lesson at 30, I had lessons for 6 months and passed 1st time... So age really isn't an issue.

xx

My teacher swapped cars, and i have gone from being test ready (almost) to practically a beginner imo! i am awful :( i actually had a good cry after todays lesson how pathetic is that :/ ! hahah. The clutch on this new car is stupidly tricky for me i have never struggled so much, i am driving worse then when i first started learning :(

Not read the whole thread but I was awful learning to drive!! had three instructors and took 9 tests  I was a serious bag of nerves on test day, actual lessons were fine though and eventually I hated them because it just felt like a chore! seriously though u will feel amazing when you pass and wonder how you ever coped without a car just keep on at it and eventually it will all click into place. maybe book your test for a few months as there generally booked up anyway then it gives u something to aim for and if you really feel your not learning change instructors :)

xxx
