HCG level for non-pregnant ?

Hi!
I know, that 5 mlU/mL means pregnancy.. but is HCG 1,0 mlU/mL normal for non-pregnant or does this mean, that it may be rising? I thought that for non-pregnant the HCG suppose to be 0 mlU/mL.

Your body does not produce HCG without implantation of a fertilized egg.

Some fertility drugs (gonadotropins) are HCG and therefore will show a pregnancy test positive when it's just the hormone supplements you are prescribed.

If you are on fertility drugs, make sure they aren't gonadotropins. If you are not on fertility treatments, you should have an HCG level of 0 unless you are pregnant (or have recently been pregnant)

As yesterday was 10 DPO and blood test showed 1,0 of HCG, then maybe there is hope for me this month

Uh, I asked the same question at the other message board too and I got an answer that levels 1-3 are normal for non-pregnant woman and it's just indicates that AF is coming very soon. Is it true? I'm so confused and anxious

No. There would have to be a fertilized egg implanting to cause any at all unless you're taking medication which is causing it to be in your system. Some women can have it and then have AF but this would actually be a very early m/c.

There isn't anything else in your body that can produce it.

It's best to test after your AF is due for a more accurate result to give the HCG a chance to become strong enough for the test to detect it.

Depending on when implantation happened, even some early tests can't actually detect it early or from the day your AF is due so the longer you leave it, the better your chances of having an accurate test result.

HCG normally doubles every 2 days or so. If you want to get anoter blood test done 2-4 days after this one you mention here, your HCG level should rise to 3 or so.

By 4-8 days dpo a normal early pregnancy test should be able to detect the HCG levels by then. When you use concentrated FMU.
