I got the Sonoline B 2 days ago. I tried it the first night I got it but I couldnt pick up the heartbeat, I played around for a while, heard a lot of sounds including my heartbeat, placenta etc. but not the babys. I put it away and chalked it up to baby hiding and its pretty early. I decided to skip a day, so I didnt try yesterday and then I tried again just now. It took a while but I found it at 156 BPM and it was the same sound I heard at the doctors office. There is no mistaking that sound. I was so emotional when I found it that I almost started crying!

I reached for my phone and recorded the sound for a few seconds so I have it.

I love the Sonoline B! :cloud9:

Wow, at only 8+5 too, well done and congrats! My angelsounds arrived this week but heard no baby yet, I'm 8+3 so not worrying as i know it's real early, but I'm just dying to hear the little guy already lol x

Its pretty common for people to hear it with the Sonoline at 8 weeks or so, which is why I got it. I read a ton of reviews and watched a bunch of youtube videos so I knew what to expect. Its amazing once you hear it!

I recorded mine on the phone too lol, I watch it ALL the time, I have a Hi.bebe and have been hearing it since 9 weeks, it is such an amazing feeling! Congrats!!

I heard bubz with my angel sounds at 8+5 used to take me half hour or i used to not find it at all, but now i find it in less than 2 minz since around 9+1 x

I amazingly found my baby's heartbeat at 7+5. And I agree, there is no mistaking that sound. I remember with my son that was one of my best days of the whole pregnancy :) xx

May I just add that I should warn you; Using the Doppler can be VERY addicting!! Try and refrain to using it once a week at max though. Studies have shown that over use can cause hearing problems and brain abnormalities in babys. ALSO just because you hear it now does not mean you will always be able to find it. I STILL get in a panic when I can't find bubby but I know everything is okay, I would say it is about 50/50 that you will hear it each time you try. So just keep calm and know everything is fine even if you don't hear it. Trust me lol.

I just got my doppler today. I have tried a few times to find the heartbeat but so far no luck. I haven't had very long to try so I am hoping later tonight I will be able to find it..

Im so getting one after my first appointment

There's no evidence to suggest that they are harmful to babies from what I've read and I used mine pretty much the whole way through my pregnancy with my son and he was born perfect. But I do agree, they are very addictive :)

This is good to hear, mine arrived last week, I'm not trying yet as I know it's too early but it's good to know people have heard the heartbeat around 8 weeks, I will probably start looking then.
X

I'm just going off of what my doctor told me. It's the same reason they don't do frequent ultrasounds.

I'd say they don't do frequent ultrasounds because of cost and also because it's not necessary x

Not sure what overuse would be considered to be but I would be interested in seeing those studies if you have them.

I don't plan on checking very frequently. I sort of want it for reassurance when I feel my symptoms have decreased and I cant feel the baby yet. It is pretty amazing though.

Wow that's amazing! Think i'll invest in one after my dating scan :) x

Yeah, Like I said it was just what my doctor told me when I told her I have been using a doppler. Maybe it's different because I have had 3 MC's and she is being causious but I thought I would share her insight. Better safe than sorry I suppose. I would just like to know that I am doing everything to help if I can. Maybe it doesn't have these side effects (as some have suggested) but I would rather know a doctors opinion than be left in the dark. I DO love hearing my baby's little heart beat though, melts my heart.

Here are a couple articles....I know one is about ultrasound but due to the similarities (using ultrasonic waves to reflect) I thought I would post it too...It's hard to find conclusive evidence (I'll hand you that) but I am still going to limit it....maybe twice a week.

I was never ever getting one as i had read so many cases were people had panicked as they couldn't find the heart beat so they went to hospital in a panic . Mine came today lol and at 7 weeks today i know i wont find it yet but il still keep trying . I havnt heard any think regarding brain or hearing problems but maybe thats the more expencive brands as they use a different type of method . I got the cheap angel sounds type but by some of your coments they seem o pick up early xx
