Hi ladies had a midwife appt today at 15w5d - she listened to baby's heartbeat and said it was nice and clear.
Under hb in my notes she's written 122 pcv 278 - anyone know what this means?

Here's a picture of what was written - I'm really worried for some reason and would appreciate insights please

Doctors have special codes for tests and stuff...I would think it's just normal doctor notes? They'd tell you if it's anything to worry about. They haven't told me LO heart rate since 9 weeks so I dunno but heard 120-160 is normal

It looks like Hb which is haemoglobin, not heartrate. Nurses normally abbreviate that to hr.

I was thinking the same as Dory. The comments under Hb could be something to do with the results from your booking in blood tests. I can't remember what PCV means but I think it also has something to do with the tests. For heart rate , they wrote something like FHRH then the rate.

Ah OK that makes sense - thank you so much guys. In another box she wrote FHH which I know is Fetal Heartrate heard but that was put under 'Pres'. She didn't write a measurement down for heartbeat then.
Thank you ladies feel stupid now.

Your haemoglobin is 122g/L - this is completely within the normal range for an adult female.
The PCV stands for packed cell volume, which tells you what proportion of your blood is made of cells rather than the plasma that they float around in. 278 (27.8%) is also well within the normal range.
Your blood count is looking good!

HB is your haemaglobin and PCV is hematocrit or pack cells volume.

Nothing to do with babies heart rate. Your HB is at a good level xx

I actually think the 278 is platelets and says PLT just in someone's handwriting! Either way, it's a normal value and nothing to do with the baby's heart rate x
