Hello my LO is 4 weeks on tuesday and is suffering really badly with colic and constipation. When i spoke to the HV about the above she told me all the things not to do including switching to comfort milk as it might just be something he is going thru. Well a week on and he is suffering so badly for min 4 hrs every day and really straining to poo. He is currently on Aptiaml stage 1 and was going to switch to their comfort milk to see if it improves at all. Has anyone else done this?? after the HV told me all the things not to do im trying to decide what to do for the best, ive so far tried infacol, dentanox, gripe water, cooled boiled water, not tried colief due to her telling me 'I MUST NOT DO IT'.
Im also open to suggestion???

How much cool boiled water have you been giving, and how often? Just wondering if that might help with some adjustment.

My LO had constipation and comfort formula really helped. There are downsides to using it at such an early stage - it's much more filling than first stage formula so the chances are he will not take as much. This has the knock on effect of decreasing weight gain.

I don't understand why she's told you not to switch from what you've said - but I can understand that it might be better to wait a little and try other things first.

Our LO had bad colic, and we used aptamil comfort and colief, wonder why she says not to? it really helped Izzy and teamed it up with dr brown bottles x

I used comfort with dr brown bottles and it changed my baby at 5 weeks old. I was using colief before that but the comfort milk and bottles made it unneccessary i think.

Lots of bicycle legs also helped lots with the poo

only 2 oz of cooled bottle water and thats if he will take it- he gets himself so upset that he barely drinks any of it. I was thinking of trying the colief first in his normal formula. We are using Dr brown bottles already so wondering which way to go next. He currently feeds 4 oz every 31/2 to 4 hrs. Im feeling quite exhausted after the last few days....so am desperate to try something which will help
