I'm about 5 weeks 6 days at the moment.

I had an early scan Monday which showed a lovely looking yolk sac but too early to see anything else.

Today I've got quite thick brown stringy discharge, thicker than EWCM.

Has anyone else had this at all??

Anyone

Every worst case possibility is going through my head. I wish pregnancy was textbook lol, would make it a lot more enjoyable

I heard that all types of discharge can be normal with pregnancy. Best thing to do would be to ring your doc and ask them as they are more familiar with your medical history. Good luck!

I rang docs and they just said probably beginnings of a miscarriage and if gets heavy to go to a&e. Talk about useless

(same doctors that when I was having heavy bleeding from a ruptured tube said to 'sit it out' as would be a miscarriage-luckily I went a&e and It was actually internal bleeding and I lost my tube)

I know they say brown blood Is old blood but still scary and looking online just brings up people talking about.miscarriages etc.
Hoping my bean is OK in there

Ugh! Some offices can be so insensitive. I would try to rest and hydrate. Hugs!

I'm sorry they were so useless and by the sounds of it, uncaring. Makes me so angry! I know they deal with these things everyday but guess what......we don't!!! A little compassion wouldn't kill anybody. Take deep breaths, try to stay calm and positive and my thoughts are with you as well as my crossed fingers.:hugs:

I'm hopping over from third tri but just wanted to give you some hope! I had brown discharge in first tri which terrified me - but all looked great at my 12 week scan shortly afterwards. The discharge came (tmi coming up!) after a bowel movement where I really strained. They think that's what caused it. I then had more spotting in second tri and went to the maternity assessment unit where they did an internal exam and could see I had a cervical ectropion which they think was irritated by sex/overdoing it! Anyway I'm now 39 weeks and waiting for this baby to arrive!

I just wanted to share my story as bleeding in pregnancy doesn't always = miscarriage. Sending hugs and luck your way xx

Well it's now consistent enough to have to wear pads and I've got period like pains

I went to epu who said they won't do anything due to me having a scan last Monday so they assume everything should be OK even though baby wasn't seen

Proper stressing now

Oh no! Sorry to hear that it's getting worse. I hope you get some good news soon!

I hope things are going ok..... I have had that type of "bleeding" go both ways. With my daughter I had a very large gush of brown stringy stuff that tapered off over the next week - she is perfect. With this current pregnancy I knew I was pregnant when instead of my period starting I had he yucky brown stringy stuff.... Then at 6 weeks woke up to a large amount of fresh red blood that tapered to brown and then a week later another fresh red bleed. I have seen baby at 7 weeks, 7w4 days and 8w5d and all is well and I feel confident this baby will carry to term.

As for it going the other way, no need to stress u anymore but in my experience no pregnancy is ever the same and spotting and bleeding if any color can be totally ok.

Keep me posted. I have been in your shoes, it's awful.

So far it's tapered off to a brown discharge when I wipe and not really even going onto a pad now. Hoping that's a good sign

I'm keeping my FX for you:) the good thing is that the blood is brown and not red

Hi, good thank you.

The bleeding and discharge stopped after 4 days, had my hcgs done a few days after which were 87000 and 112000. So all seems good
