Help, cant work out my due date

Hi All,

I have just found out that i am preggers but having some touble working out my due date.... so here goes.

I had a period on 7th January for 5 days.

i then had a period on the 5th of Feb (ecxaclty the same flow and type as usual)

i felt really sick on friday 15th of feb and did a test only to find out that it was positive.

how can i be pregnant only 6 days after finnishing my period?

any help would be most appreciated

You need to tell your doc that you´re pregnant and what you´ve told us, they will set you up with a dating scan to find out x

Thank you so much for the quick reply, i will be going to see Dr this week, but will i be too early for a dating scan? how soon can they see anything these days. am worried it migth be etopic!

i hope not as this will be a really welcome suprise for me.

I'd guess too early for a dating scan but you can have early scans to help tule out ectopic if you have reason to believe it may be.

My mother inlaws mum had her periods all the way through 2 of her pregnancies... bang on the right dates and everything !!
( sorry, that probably doesn't help much )
They will be able to tell you in 'months' how pregnant you are roughly, but it probably not 'weeks'. Should give you a rough idea of which was a period and which wasn't Good Luck.

Hi All,

just wanted to post a quick update on this.

Blood results for the 16th Feb showed HCG 210. (6days after my "period" had stopped)

doctor can not wirk out my dates either and has refered me to the EPFA unit.

had secong HCG on Monday 18th but they only had gone up to 220.

really gutted as this does nto look good for me at all. Had some light brown spotting too.

Just had my blood done again today 20th Feb so i guess i just need to see what happens. get my result in the morning.

Midwife thinks it is probably ectopic. i am soo upset. Dp has been great and supportive but i cant stand the waiting till tomorrows results.

do you think ther is any chance of a good rise in my next results! i am hanging onto a false glimmer of hope i think.......


p.s has anyone else found some of the nurses to be less than tactful..... probabaly just me being sensitive.

Really sorry to hear of what your going through
I will pray that your little bean is ok and healthy.
The waiting must be awful and i really sympathise
Im not sure what the levels of hcg should be so i cannot really be of much help there.
But as for some of the nurses............some of them can be really snotty and uncaring. I had one frighten the life out me when i had a bleed at 7 wks. I went to be that night and did not sleep a wink. Only to be reassured by my own mw the next day.

My sister had very low number and they didnt rise much either and she bled too....they thought she was ectopic.... and look what she got....

Thank you for that. Even though you know that you may not be the exception case like merv's sister. those small rays of hope really help you kep a positive outlokk on it all!

I dont have my own mw, just what ever the nhs thows at me for now.

get the nex hcg at 9.15 today....

still feel very pregnant as was so sicky this morning!

Hi All,

latest update.

Spoke to nurse this morning. HCg only 320. not looking good at all it should be about 850 now. they have called me in for an emergency scan this afternoon as they are pretty sure it is looking bad.

got the news at work which was awful. was really upset trying to find a meeting room to hide in to call the hospital, then having to tell my boss what is going on adn gettign sent home. Dp and i work together also which makes things even harder for us as we have only been together 6 months and met at work.... i feel like i am in some eastenders storyline!!

oh well. i will keep you posted how i get on this afternoon.

(p.s i think these forums are amazing offering support and understanding, so may stories have helped me feel prepared for all out comes and infomred of things to ask. i wanted to include my story so thers may can associate with it, like i did with so many others. Hi,

thank you for all your king words of support.

So had a both types of scan. Nothing in the uterus as yet, which is expected with a hcg under 1000.

but they did find a growth (5cm) on my ovary. which was a shock. i am 25. they are not ruling out an ectopic yet, but they think this thing may be producing the hcg or both! so if no pregency then it will haev to be removed wich puts my ovary at risk. there is a very minimal chance i am just early pregnancy from my weird dates.

so two rubbish out comes really. i have to go back in on sat and tuesday for more blood work, then another scan next thursday.

i have confused all the docs and mw's. they dont have a clue what is going on. i have a feeling they may make me into an eeeri indiana case study......

i will post my next hcg's for anyone else who may be going though the same thing

Ahh this must be so frustrating for u!! It is so awful when they make u wait!! I kinda know wot ur going through! just have to take it as it comes as there is nothing else u can do, try and keep positive!!! Big hugs!!
