Help! I can't decipher my baking soda gender test result haha!

Baking soda is bicarbonate of soda, not baking powder.

I did the baking soda test today!!
I put 1 tea spoon of backing soda in a cup and peed on it (is this right).
It FOAMED EVERYWHERE right away like a beer that was badly poured. In addition to my gut felling I asked the sonographer what side the placenta was on and she said right. So I am felling more and more confiden that I will be having a beautiful baby boy. I could not be happier.

I just did this test and mine came out 100% TEAM I even swirled it and it didn't fizz at all!! I am so happy because I really want a little Airyonna Elise!! Every gender predictor test has come back girl so I think it's pretty safe to say I am team . I can't wait till my 16 week scan now so the OB can tell me for sure.

Even when you swirled it, it didn't fizz? That gives me more hope that my fizz from moving the cup was actual fizzing which would mean boy haha. We'll see soon enough I guess.

found this and it explains the difference in baking powder/soda, the baking powder contains baking soda so it might still work who knows i will give it a go and write back

Yes I did the test every time I went to the bathroom and nothing!! I even tried putting it in a cup and then having a wee on it and nope no fizz. Only 1 time did it get little bubbles on the side of the cup but again it didn't fizz. I hope that you get your boy!!

Exciting haha. Thanks! I used the last of our baking soda so no more testing with it for awhile but I'm going with boy.

i used baking powder and it works! and baking powder contains bicarbonate soda that is in baking soda so its same job

Tried it using bicarbonate of soda and nothing, no fizz just a gloopy mess when poured out without any fizzing or bubbling so is that girl???

Yeah, based on how I interpret the test... that would indicate girl.

I don't know if I would be game enough, I get my hopes up too easily with any gender predictor
