Help please with my ovulation tests please x

Hi everyone

I have been TTC for 4 months now so just thought i would start using ovulation tests this month just so i have a rough idea as to when i ovulate. I always thought i ovulated around cd14 as always had tugging type pains in the right area.

My cycle is around 31 days long.

So i started testing for ovulation on cd 15 and got a faint line (so thought i may be building up to it) but then cd 16 - faint line and cd 17 - faint line and cd 18 - faint line.

Not sure whats going on as i kind of thought if i do eventually get a positive opk then my luteal phase will be too short as they say once u get a positive ovulation wont happen untill 24-36 hours.

a +ve is equal darkness or darker, some people can get feint line all month but darker at ovulation, u say u thought u ovulated day 14 - what about testing couple days before this to see if any different. i personally got nothing at all, then one feint line one day then one day equal darkness then nothing again!!
