I just wanted to share something Josh's occupational therapist suggested, she said to get a bean bag and when he has a tantrum to put him on it and make him hug the bean bag, push it against him etc. (It works with big cushions too).
We've tried it today with the cushions (while we're still waiting for the bean bag to be shipped) and it really calmed him down! His tantrums are so violent and he gets in such a state sometimes... It last very long too! We tried to comfort him before by hugging him/kissing but no such luck, he hates to be comforted.
Hopefully this helps your little ones too! xxx
PS: she also said that after a while, he will associate the bean bag as a way of dealing with his tantrums/anxiety etc. and will go on it on his own to calm himself down.
