Hi i'm a newbie, any advice please, i have ovarian cysts and possible Endometriosis

Hi everyone, im new to this site and abit unsure at the min i'll start off by telling you a little bit about me. Im 21 and my husband is 22. we have been ttc baby number 1 for the past 4 and half yrs with no luck. i suffer with ovarian cysts and doctor thinks have have endometriosis. I have been up and down the docs since ttc, they jst fobbed me off saying we were young and that it would happen , 4 and half years later and nothing still.. i have really bad pain but gets worse when my period comes sorry tmi . the docs have only just starting to take us seriously. i see a gynae next week and abit unsure what to expect? im happy that were finally going to get some answers but im abit scared too. were just so down, feels like were never going to be parents my hubbys swimmers are fine and so we know its me. i ust have a really bad feeling. is anyone experiencing anything simular or any nice success stories would be lovely. thanks for letting me ramble xxx

p.s: im not under or over weight and doc has done some bloods and they came back ok so im pretty healthy too.

Welcome, don't want to read and run. I don't have a happy story to tell you yet. I was diagnosed with endo 9 yrs ago and is the only thing my gyn can find wrong. We were referred to a FS, but our insurance doesn't cover it so we (well I) just took our last pill in our first cycle with 50mg clomid. I found a IVF clinical trial out of NY and am currently going through the screening process. We are hoping that the clomid will do the trick, but don't want the IVF opportunity to pass us by since we simply can't afford it on our own. I have the same problems as you, least we are not alone

Both me and my partner are 22, we have been TTC for 2 years now...

I have suffered from PCOS for 4 years now (Not severe and no real side effects - Apart from no OVULATION)

I have been on clomid now for 3 months with no luck apart from large cysts. I am only on 50mg but it over stimulates my ovaries, but the eggs do not release!

My gyco has told me that i suffer from ovarian cysts and now to add to the complications she thinks i have endometriosis as i have a large 'mass' on my left overy which is not going and has been there for 2 months.

I go to see my consultant end of June, and he is going to disucss the next steps with me and the operation!

My periods are 'normal', always 28 day cycles and 'on' for 5-6 days each time.

My partner is fine and is healthy and has fab swimmers!

hi 300789 thanks for your reply! bless u. hard isnt it it helps knowing im not alone. doctor said i dont have pcos, just cysts that are reacurring.. im hoping the gynae will say more about this, after 4 n half yrs ttc, they have never really gone into it! i changed docs aout 9 months ago and shes finally referred me to gynae. she suspects endo as i have awul pains but even more wen my period comes i have always been regular, missed 1 now and again but heard thats normal. my cycle runs 31-33 days and lasts about 5-7 days. it gets really painful and heavy im just hoping for abit more help! see the gyna next weds so with any luck they will finally help. its been such a long and upsetting journey. thanks hun, i wish you luck too! want a little mini 'us' so bad xxx

dont be scared hun i was the same accept the endo iv had all test and scans and they cant find anythink stoppping me iv been on clomid for over 6 month but nothing has worked for me yet you will get there when you see your fs she/he will prob do some internal scans to see how bad your ovaries are to wat to put you on,alot of bloods will be done to rule our different things and they might even give you clomid to try out im on metformin to try and concol my pcos good luck ,im 23 and my partner is 27 we been trying 4 years his swimmers are fine aswell so we have alot in common,keep me updated hun xx

hi kayley, thanks for your reply. im really excited but i have a feeling its going to be bad. my doc did bloods and said that there is signs of ovulation but they were not as high as they are ment to be. theres me thinking that after i see the gynae, im going to fall straight away lol , an only dream eh? just nervous incase its something really bad, ive been left this long bless you , its so hard isnt it. are you awaiting any different treatment or anything then hun? xxx

yh hoping to start ivf next month when i go back clomid might work for you has you already ovulate i dont at all even had having lap and dye thats ment to make u start i still dont lol your get there just remember there is people going through the same so your not alone add me on facebook kayley aspey try and arrange a meet us with everyone xx

thats ok hun yh your tubes could be blocked i had my lap and dye in dec and they said everythink was perfect thats why we are a bit baffled it doesnt hurt just like period pains after and u get to stay in bed for a week lol if u can get that def do it that way u no wether its your tubes stoppping you or somethink else xxx

a lap and dye is were they make small cuts to your belly button and side and go through with a special thingy to look at your ovaries and inject dye through to see if your tubes are blocked and apprently it un blocks them if they are some ppl have actualy fell stright after having it done and if there is any endo they cut that away so its all fresh again didnt hurt at all they put u to sleep.all i have now is 2 little scars.xx

this may sound shocking but sounds exciting for ladies who are going though that, sounds like it could help? i got a bad feeling that something worse is going on with me :s im dreading next week but im a little excited too. just hard to believe that after 4 n half yrs ttc, ive never had a doctor or anyone explain all this to me, think it should have been dealt with a long tme ago. all i got was 'your still young' 'your still having periods, so theres not a problem' 'the pain is just your cycle getting to grips' .. never took me serious, now im sat herethinking cos theyve left me so long, what if its all bad and im never going to have children? got myself in a right tis xx

stop thinking like that u will have ur bundle of joy only only found out i was infertile because i suffer from pcos where i grow hair men do and have cysts all over my ovaries iv had pcos since i was younge but only found out properly about 5 years ago ,even if it means ivf ur still get that baby your have always dreamed off just keep hassling your doc till they somethink where abouts do you live to? xx

i know, just been left that long, i kind of got that way of thinking lol i do suffer with cysts and each time ive been left and theyve burst. i have noticed hair growth too but my doc said its not pcos the last scan i had about 2 months ago showed a cyst on my right ovary and 1 on my left about 5cm or more and also that i had a few little ones on each overy,the nurse also said my ovaries are quite close together but she said it was nothing to worry about. went to my docs and explained that i have really bad pains nearly everyday and they get worse when my period comes ect and thats when she did bloods and referred me to gynae so its just a waiting game. she said shes almost crtain i have endo but she cant diagnose me with it as its a gynaelogical problem (sorry about spelling) i live in the lincolnshire area hun, u? xx

hi just to let you know i'm in the same boat. Waiting for my lap (supposed to be within next 6 weeks). Hoping they'll get rid of the cyst i have on my right ovary and also clear up any endometriosis, fingers crossed. Bit nervous bout going for the op but i see a lot of people have had it done and i'm hopeful it will sort things out x

aww hun, lots of luck and let me know how you get on sounds like the op could really help. i recieved a letter from my docs today saying that i have a complex cyst on ech ovary and so i read up about complex ysts nd now am panicking as read that they can be serious xx

Have hope! I had endometriomas (cysts) on both ovaries. One was large and painful (7cm), the other smaller (3cm). Both were removed with Davinci Robot, excised. I did not go onto Lupron. My surgery was in August, I conceived in June (waiting 2 months to try per Dr instructions). I was 32 years old when I conceived. Everyone is different, but if it worked for me naturally with damage to both ovaries there is hope for you too. I tried some "natural" fertility aids, not sure if they did anything. Tried drinking tons of raspberry tea, a "fertilty tea" containing qui dong for one month which definitely did something to my cycle. If you try the qui dong read up on it, not safe when pregnant & can increase bleeding etc. Also I bought a clearblue fertility monitor for the month I conceived and it didn't register any ovulation, though obviously I did at some point.
