HIPP baby tea - why only in Polish? is there a reason?

I just let her drink as much as she wanted, but no more than 100ml. she'd usually only want about 50ml at that age. I would make it up hot and then cool it down to drinking temperature.

Hipp did try and launch their teas here a few years ago; but they advertised them in magazines and put on the packaging as suitable from 2 weeks and due to various laws this isn't really allowed here and various people/lobbying groups complained; so they stopped making them altogether for a UK market. They are absolutely fine to give but I personally wouldn't give them before six months. I know in Germany baby tea is a massive market; the NUK small feed hole teats in Germany are primarily advertised for giving baby tea; here they are advertised for breastmilk or water.

thats interesting, thank you.
I suppose at 2 wks though you would only be giving an ounce absolute max.
We also used the small hole NUK teats for water and tea before we switched to a handled cup for water and a doidy for the tea :flower:

You would, but advertising them as suitable well before six months and since tea is classed as a 'food' item it was something to do with the guidelines to exclusively BF for six months being violated. When my eldest was little boots did herbal baby waters/fruit waters (like cold teas really) and they were packaged as being ok from 4 weeks, but they promptly disappeared too (this is nearly 7 years ago now) and reappeared but labelled as suitable from a much older age.

Can you give lo's fruit teas eg. blackcurrant or raspberry? Do they contain any caffeine? Sorry if its a silly question, I don't drink any tea at all so i'm rather clueless! lol!

They don't contain caffeine but some do contain herbal extracts/ingredients even if they look like just fruit (especially the twinings ones) some of the herbal ingredients aren't safe for babies.

Ok thank you, don't think i'll chance it as I don't know what to look out for in the ingredients x

I would imagine, as others have said, that it's because the powers that be think it might interfere with BF, or maybe fill baby up too much so they don't eat their solids/BM/formula.

hey sorry to crash your thread op.
was just wondering where i can buy the Rooibos tea people have said about? Also where can i get other teas suitable for lo as i looked in sainsburys today and all they had was twinnings fruit teas or normal tea like pg tips

thanks!

Rooibos is also known as redbush, most supermarkets sell it. Plain fennel tea is ok as well.

Ohh really? Lol maybe i was being blind then and it was there, is it with the herbal teas or the regular tea?
I saw a fennel tea but it had other stuff in it like peppermint and liquorace(sp?) so didnt get it as wasnt sure and didnt want to risk it being wrong.
Thanks!
