I'm wondering if anyone had negative experiences with their skin after coming off the pill?
A little background about me and the pill: I was on the combined pill for 8 years, until I started getting headaches with aura last year. I told my doctor about the headaches, and he told me I must come off of the combined pill as I was at a higher risk of stroke (due to the pill causing aura). I was put on the mini pill cerazette instead in October last year. I did notice the headaches and aura stopped, but the cerazette was causing me other symptoms which I didn't like.
After around 7 weeks on cerazette, I went back to the doctor to ask for a different mini pill. He then put me on micronor, which I didn't like either, so I decided to come off it in December last year, and try to avoid pregnancy naturally with charting bbt.
Since coming off the pill last December, I've suffered with spots on my face (mainly my chin/jaw area), chest, and shoulders. I've also been suffering with bad ingrown hairs since coming off the pill, which is the thing that is frustrating me the most. I used to hardly ever get an ingrown hair, where as now my legs and bikini area are covered in red bumps. I haven't changed my skincare, or my method of hair removal, so all I can put it down to is hormones.
I'm basically not sure what to do, as the spots and ingrown hairs really bother me. Also, my partner and I started ttc a few months ago (on cycle 5 of ttc now). So I'm also worried that my hormones being a bit out of wack could affect our ability to conceive.
I'd like to add that I do have a regular cycle, however my af is always on the light side. My cycle is usually 26 days long, usually ovulating cd14. My af usually lasts two days, followed by two days of spotting.
Has anyone had a similar experience to me coming off the pill? If so, what did you do to help this?
I'm sure my best bet would be a trip to my doctor.
