Just wondering how everyone came to have a section?

Mine was emergency section under general anesthetic as little ones heart was dipping far too much with contractions

What about you.....?

I had pre-eclampsia and the doctors didn't want me to deliver vaginally because it could make my blood pressure too high and put me and baby at risk.

I had an EMCS under general and now have an ELCS under general booked for number two.
If I didn't have to be under general anaesthetic I wouldn't be but unfortunately I do x

My situation was exactly the same as above!

EMCS 1st time due to a failed induction due to GD under local anaesthetic
ELCS 2nd time due to GD again, very unstable even on insulin (i was doing everything needed but still failed) strong history of diabetes in family. again local anaesthetic

babys healths comes before anything else :)

I had two emergencies with a spinal and an elective natural CS with a spinal

I had an emergency c section with an epidural that failed.

EMCS - I had pre eclampsia, but my bp actually held up pretty well during labor. Ended up with the section due to failure to progress, when they opened me up, they found my son had twisted himself into a really weird position and had lodged himself against my pubic bone.

I had the spinal block to begin with, but because of my son being stuck & they were tugging SO hard (2 docs & then a vacuum extraction), I freaked out so they put me under with gas.

I had an EMCS and spinal with my first as his BP dropped with the contractions, he was tiny when he was born even tho they said I was measuring big, with my second I had and elective c-sec with spinal as the growth scans showed she was also tiny and they said she would do better out then in:(

Mine was originally scheduled as a planned section due to my LO being breech. But I went into labor 3.5 weeks early, and 5 hours after my water broke (before they could get me in for the surgery), his foot came out. So it turned into an emergency section under general anesthesia due to him being footling breech.

My baby was breech so we had scheduled a c-section for him on Sept 10th. The very next night a small amount of my water came out so I went to the hospital. They were having a hard time verifying if it was in fact my water or not ( I had a lot of fluid in me.) So I was in labor for 13 hours while they figured that out, worrying that they would send me home with those horrible contractions. Then they came in at about 8:30 am and told me I was having a baby that day (August 30). They took me down to the operating room and gave me some medication in my back at that point I couldn't even focus on what they said it was I ended up going under at 9am and had the baby at 10.

No one who's answered this has had an ELCS with a general - wow :)! I'll be ticking that box next month!

My son was premature and they wanted to give him the best chance possible.

I had an emergency c-section because my baby was breech and premature. I had a spinal block.

None of the above.
Emergency with spinal. After labouring to 10cms on gas and air no epidural.

I had an EMCS under GA after 30 hours labour, a partially failed epidural (could still feel my right side) and then a failed spinal block.

#1was EMCS with epidural as like you his hb was dropping dangerously low. #2 was ELCS

I had an EMCS with a spinal due to failure to progress - I got stuck at 8cm and they realised my little girl was too big to push out, also my waters had been broken for 30 hours so needed to get her out x
