apples for babies?? i've got loads of them and want to make some puree for katie!!

also, when weaning recipes say put a bit of butter in, can you do that before 6 months or not???

I love them baked but I think the most nutritious way, is steaming x

1. Peel, core and cut apple into slices/chunks
2. Place slices or chunks into a pan with just enough water to slightly cover apples
3. Boil/steam until tender; be sure to check on the water level and stir.

=D

I steam them just as Toria described.

Peel and the put in the pan filled with water and wait until they are soft.
And when I puree them I thin them with the water they were cooked in.

I boiled them but I think next time i'm going to bake them, they're supposed to taste better

This is exactly the same way i do it. works for apples or pears. then i just put them in the blender to make a puree.

Same here! If I do apples i put some water in but pears don't really need water if they are very ripe.

it's nice with apricots in aswell. Just add some apricot in the pan when stewing the apple/pear or both and continue as normal.

i do the same as toria and then puree or mash depending on the amount of lumps etc i want :)
