How do you deal with DH not liking any names?

I've talked to a couple people that said they named their LO and their OH didn't like the name at first but it grew on him. I don't think it's right to name our child something that he doesn't agree with, I would feel weird if he didn't fully agree with the name.
I really love the name Audrey but he looked at me like I had 3 heads when I mentioned it. So I came up with a few other names and he doesn't like any of them but will not give his input as he doesn't know any names that he likes. I'm not sure what to do in this case...

I guess just keep bringing it up and see if it grows on him? If he doesn't like it by the time baby is here, I personally wouldn't use it though. But I'd insist he comes up with some ideas!

We have a similar problem. I always come up with suggestions, and he always says no.

He has come up with 1 or 2 names, and I've said no. But each time I ask him if he has any suggestions, he brings up the same 1-2 names every time! It drives me crazy.

Lol I text him names randomly throughout the day and he doesn't really respond (as he is at work) but he won't even mention it later on, until I ask if he read them. So he will read them in front of me and be like "that's what you want to name our kid??" He disagrees on everything, except his moms name and "Melissa" idk why Melissa but that's such a 1980-1990s name and I don't agree on it for our baby at all...

We've had similar, all of my top choices were vetoed, so we just kept going until we came up with a couple of names that we both agreed on, it's so hard to both agree on a name x

that's good you found a few you agreed on, have you picked a specific one yet? We have so much going on right now that its hard to even talk to DH about names. I've also gotten sick of looking as I am picky as well. At least I have around 4-5 to choose from, he only has 2 lol

We have a final two, a top choice and a second choice, so im hoping that she suits one of them 😉. Hope you can get it sorted and agree on a couple that you both like. X

It sounds like he's conversing with you even though it sounds negative. Have you asked for his top 3? If he was to do some homework and provide input it'd feel more 2 way conversation.

Argh!! yes me too.

I'm only 8 weeks so it's not urgent just yet but OH is infuriating with names, we used literally the only name we agreed on for our daughter.
I think i've suggested every single name there is in the world and some that there isn't and he just screws his nose up. He only makes ridiculous suggestions that i have categorically said no to like Celtic for a girl or Castiel for a boy.

He says he'll know it when he hears it and i really hope he's right and something just suddenly clicks but we'll see. Once we find out the gender it should help the decision.

Good luck

Just put out your top 3-5 and leave it at that. You're really catering to hom by offering millions of names - did you actually like them all? I'm pretty choosy about the names we pick and DH knows that if he doesn't contribute, he doesn't get a vote. Putting down the names I've tried hard to pick isn't an option when he's not lifted a finger to help. But if you want them to respect you you can't go offering everything under the sun, as stubbornly it is that he's not contributing, you can be stubbornly unwaivering on your selection.

Two weeks before I was due I picked a name he hated and said that was the final name unless he took finding a name seriously. I was stubborn and he kept asking me to help him look, but I refused (after months of trying to get his input and him always giving me jokes but not any actual help). It worked. Within a few days he found a name we could both agree on lol.

LOL! I'm glad that worked for you! My DH is stubborn himself, if I chose a name and told him that's what it is or he can find one, he would just allow me to name her that but he would hate it and probably be miserable about it for a bit, he's stubborn like that.
The other day I mentioned that I saw a random girl I barely know on facebook named her baby Aiyana. He said he likes that name. I'm not 100% fond of it but at least we are making a little bit of progress here.

My guy is also very stubborn, but that is the one time I managed to out stubborn him. Now we have to go through the naming process all over again lol....wish me luck because the joke names have already started.
