Just been to the midwife and she said I was 2/5ths palpable. Is that a good thing? :haha:

Booked my stretch & sweep for 40+3. Soooo hoping for a VBAC :)

I think that means that 3/5ths of baby's head is dropped down into your pelvis, so that's a good sign! Second babies often don't engage until labour, so I'd be pretty pleased about that. My daughter (first baby) never engaged before labour, so really it can happen at any time.

Good luck with the stretch and sweep and fingers crossed for the VBAC!

Thank you :flower: My daughter never engaged as she was breech so I am utterly clueless this time round. Yey that sounds good :D

Yep 3/5th engaged :) Palpable is how much of babies head they can feel so -

0/5th - fully engaged
1/5th - 4/5th engaged
2/5th - 3/5th engaged
3/5th - 2/5th engaged
4/5th - 1/5th engaged
5/5th or 'brim' - not engaged

:)

my md keeps writting brim in my notes but when i said is he engaged she said yes im confused now

When my LO was brim I was told he was right at the 'brim' if the pelvis, so incredibly close to being engaged :)

Such a great question. I just keep being told that baby's head is low. I don't want any engagement right now! I was confused about what it all meant. I just know he is head down and low.

That's really great Hun - once they get to 3/5, 2/5 and 1/5 they are considered engaged and the only way is out!!! :happydance:

I am told that she is in a perfect position but I've never been told that she is engaged. She still feels very high to me and I am still getting kicked in the ribs.

I'm getting kicked in the ribs too... Ouch!

This is baby number 2 for me as well but he's not engaged at all - although it has been almost 2 weeks since my last mw appointment so who knows now - and I know they say that a lot of time them, in subsequent pregnancies, the baby doesn't engage until labour. But with my son, he was 3/5ths engaged from 36 weeks (possibly 34 weeks, I can't remember) and he was still 3/5ths when my waters broke and I went into labour x

Ah! So excited to see you here Louppey! :-) Congrats on almost being finished :-)

Hahah. I just ate lunch and had some major heartburn. Comes with the territory, no?

You have hydroaminos? I had that with DD!

Not this time, but I did with Coralie. Mind you I still feel massive this time round! Baby is estimated at around 8 1/2 pounds now  :haha:

How has your pregnancy been? Haven't seen you around too much on here xx

Ah! I wish someone would estimate what this baby is weighing! I am enormous but haven't gained any weight in a month. I'm not sure how this is possible! Lol

I've been well. Odd having a non-eventful pregnancy, but I'm glad for it. I took time away from the boards during 2nd tri so as not to freak myself out. I had a lot of labor and delivery anxiety. Hope this hasn't been a bad journey this go for you!

It's been a very non-eventful pregnancy for me too :) after last time with the poly and breech this is a nice change! Like you say though, pretty odd.

Are you hoping for a VBAC (you did have a section last time didn't you or am I imagining it?) I am certainly hoping for a VBAC. I've got another section booked in at 40+8 to avoid induction. So soon as hubby is home (he's away atm) I'll be trying every old wives trick going.

Yes you remembered right :-) I had a Csection before and am hoping for a VBAC this time around too! I'm terrified of being induced, I would probably just ask for a C!

Keep us updated on how things go! What all are you trying? I just read on another VBAC post that someone said raspberry lead tea isn't recommend for VBAC hopefuls O_O. Going to ask about that one in my next appointment and Google it, because I've been drinking it!
