At my last appointment, they told me that LO was head down. However, I feel the majority of my kicks in my side now, and sometimes I feel movement on both sides at once - making me wonder if he's gone transverse now. I really hope not!

Where do you feel your kicks? Do you know how your baby is lying? I can never tell from the outside by feel.

My ill guy is head down. The biggest kicks are up near my ribs, but I feel lighter punches very low and sometimes to the side.

Mine is left occiput lateral so he's I'n a c shape head down. I get movements on the left and right, and left hand corner sometimes all at the same time! Feels like he's a giant or else there are two I'n there :) yours might be I'n similar position x

I feel kicks and movements up high and how low so assume some are feet and some hands. At 28w baby was head down but not engaged which I know doesn't mean anything she/he could be anyway now! lol (31w+2)

Could be, Seany3!! They did tell me that he was kind of lying on his side. That makes me feel a bit better. :flower:

My baby is head down with its back to
The right, bum up near my ribs and feet/arms to my left, do feel baby all over!

My baby is head down but her back is towards my right side. So I feel most kicks on my left side, anywhere from the ribs to the bellybutton.
I feel some movements on my top right side, but they're not kicks, they're obviously from something larger than a foot (her butt)

edited to add: I also get some movement on my lower right side, most likely from her hands. I also thought baby could be in transverse, but my midwife assured me that it's not the case.

I honestly go back and forth on which way he is laying. Some days I feel like he must be head down, then other times I feel like he is breach or transverse. I get kicks everywhere, and often a large bump that rolls from left to right depending on the time of day (can't decide if it is maybe his butt???), Yet I still feel sharp kicks/punches to my cervix, I just can figure out if he is assaulting me with his feet or hands! Oh and I have tried to pay attentione to where his hiccups are, but the resonate throughout my belly and I can litterally feel/see them at the top of my belly and at the bottom??? This little guy is so confusing!

LO has been head down at every appointment for the last two months or so. Good baby! :awww: However, I feel her kicks in my right side all the time. She also loves to stick her bum in my ribs.

She's head down with her back curled up on my left side, so feel the kicks on my right side and right ribs!

Lol! They like to make us uncomfortable. Earlier on she stuck her bum out at my bellybutton and my bellybutton popped out, but when she moved her bum it popped back in again!

Head down, facing sideways with feet on my right side.

I feel:
- hiccups low, around my left hip bone.
- smaller hand/arm movements behind both hip bones, and occasionally his head moving down low.
- hips (a big lump, can feel from outside) moving around under my ribs.
- feet (a small lump, can feel from outside) on my right side.

My baby is very funny about this. I'm 38+2days and she is head down, chest goes to the left.. and then entire body goes to the right. So to check heart beat you have to find her on the left, but her entire body makes my body lean to the right. It's almost like she's traversed with head down.

My LO is head down - I feel most of the kicks in my ribs but also feel a lot in my sides. :) And sometimes some punches down low!

Sounds like the position my baby is in. Midwife didn't refer to it as such, but she did say he is head down, and I can tell myself he is in a C shape, I get little movements low down on both sides (hands) and the big movement up higher and to the right, thats where he tries to stretch his leggies. I often get a bum poking out up high on my left lol, poor Lil Fella, he really really wants to stretch but is running out of room! Apparently he is not at all engaged but my midwife said that its mainly first babies that engage, subsequent ones tend to have more room in the uterus and can remain 'free' til actual labor!

At my appointment today I was told bub is oblique... (diagonal) So she's head down to the right and legs up in the left.

I get really strong punches in my side and kicks just above my belly button still... Occasionally hitting up towards the ribs

I don't know how baby is laying :-( they haven't said anything! But I honestly feel most movement low...even low sides and some in the middle. Not sure if that means hes not head down yet :-/ guess I'll ask on weds @ next appt!

Baby really confuses me! He has been frank breech for a while, but the midwife hasn't been able to tell for the past few weeks. I get a lot of kicks/punches on the top of my bump now, and sometimes feel something down low might be hands if he turned?

But when he has the hiccups I feel them more in the middle or upper part of my stomach so I'm very confused.

If the midwife can't tell me in which position he is in next week ( anterior placenta) she'll make an appointment for a scan. I really do hope he is head down!

My baby is head down laying on the left side like a c shape also, midwife told me at my 38 week appointment that I need to do some exercises to get the lo in the middle. Has anyone else been told this? X

I think it's really hard to tell position of baby from where you feel movements. My last baby was breech throughout late pregnancy whereas this baby has been head down at every appointment (yay!). I don't really notice a huge difference - I can definitely feel this baby's bum in my ribcage but it doesn't feel a whole lot different to a head in the ribcage! I feel kicks and punches everywhere, they are not generally stretched out, more folded up, so even with a breech baby you can feel high kicks, they are not all low down as you might think. Also I found hiccups very misleading, I felt hiccups low down last time and was sure that it must mean baby was head down but he wasn't. I don't think there's a huge difference in where I feel hiccups this time round which is strange!
