Carter has just started getting up on all fours and rocking. How long after your LOs started doing this did they crawl?

my lo hasn't got that far yet but can i ask how long it is after they roll over that they begin to go on all fours and rock? Thanks :)

Omar was standing on 4 at 6.5 months, but managed to crawl properly at 9 months

He was army crawling before he ever got up on all 4's. He was confidently cruising the furniture before he bothered to crawl on all 4's.

It was about 3 or 4 weeks :) She was commando crawling before she got up on all 4s though.

Carter started rolling around Christmas and has just started (last 2 days) rocking.

About 3 weeks for us. Then he commando crawled for about a week, then proper crawling.

Mummy2jack...Finley rolled over at about 3 months [can't check the book as it's in his room] and he didn't rock until 7 months.

Carter kind of rolls around the room but he doesn't army crawl yet.

Amari has been rocking for approx a week.
Hope she crawls soon, she can go backwards just not farwards :D

Bella commando crawled around at around 7 months, figured how to get up on all 4's at about 7.5 and crawled just after turning 8 months. I'd say if your LO is up on all 4's an rocking, it's gonna happen soon!

Evie isn't on all 4's just yet but is sort of army crawling and shuffling backwards

It's very funny to watch Xx

I am kind of excited and kind of not. I am happy for another milestone, but him crawling will make my job that much harder (getting into dog food and stuff). Guess I better get baby proofing!

Bella's first job when she discovered the kitchen as "oooh, cat water, oooh cat biscuits, clearly put there for me" and over the both went. Naturally i took pictures before moving her

Today, she was walking along the kitchen units and discovered the doors open.... She also discovered the toilet opens..... as does the washing machine detergent draw.... I deffinately have a toddler on my hands!

Life does get VERY interesting when they get mobile!

Do they have baby proofing for the toilet?

I really hope so since she like to put her hands down, so far i've caught her everytime, but one of these days i wont be so lucky!

My thoughts exactly!! Its only just dawned on me that life is gonna be harder when they start crawling, Up until a week ago, he was always in the same place i left him! Now he rolls over and he can shuffle himself backwards on his bum?
Can i just ask...what is commando crawing, lo moves his arms and legs when he's on his tummy but doesn't get anywhere  is that what commando is and if so, is 4 months not a bit early? Are his knees developed enough to be doin stuff like that?! Sorry if that sounds thick, i just rememeber something from massage saying dont put any pressure on the knee caps :dohh:

Have you ever seen a military movie where they are trying to stay hidden and kind of pull themselves along the ground with their arms. I don't know how to better explain it, but that is what it is. 4 months does seem kind of early, but every baby is different.

My LO has been commando crawling(not far just a couple feet) since 3 1/2 months. Right now(4 1/2 months) he's on all fours rocking and pushing off with his legs..but hasn't gotten the concept of really using his arms. He does roll all over the place, to where ever he wants to go. People keep telling me that he'll probably crawl early but I don't know. I was walking(and running) by 9 months my parents said. So he could be taking after me, maybe?
