How long after your hcg reached 0/negative pregnancy test did you ovulate or get AF?

My hcg is finally down to single digits, and I'm sooooo ready to start ttc again. My doctor said we didn't need to wait at all before trying.

I'm wondering if it's likely I will ovulate soon, because if so I better start dtd! (We haven't since the miscarriage)

Or does it usually take a while?

I know every woman is different, some don't ovulate, etc...so I don't need that spiel. :laugh2: Just wanting to get actual experiences from different ladies.

Thanks! :)

I didn't have my levels tested but here is my experience. Had my D&C on October 20, tested on November 9 (20 days later) and got a faint BFP, so I wasn't expecting my period for a while. It showed up over the weekend (22/23 November), so just under 5 weeks after the D&C.

Hope AF will turn up soon for you too and that it won't be long till you hold your rainbow baby.

I tested til bfn on tests. 3 days after my bfn I got a positive opk and 11 days after that I got my bfp for my (hopefully sticky) rainbow baby. Good luck!!!

AF hit while I was still testing positive (hcg at 11 on the final day of AF).

That's interesting Dill!!

My body has been so bizarre with this MC that everyone at the clinic knows me by name and face and admit that they hold meetings about how abnormal it's been.

...so.

Hopefully I'm back on track soon.

Thanks for all your responses, ladies! :)

I'm just so confused. I almost feel like I'm on my period now, although I never stopped spotting. 6 straight weeks of bleeding. It had gotten light but now it's a little heavier (but not heavy). Every time I ask my doctor, she says it's normal. As long as my hcg keeps declining, which it does. Was at 10 Friday and I had it tested again today. Hoping it's gone.

I'm sure it'll be gone in a jiff! Fingers are crossed. :)

Did you end up getting your period yet? I took misoprostol for missed mc on Nov 1st, bled for a week and a half and then I had some spotting a few days later but nothing since, and I am still waiting on my period. Granted, we haven't been exactly preventing either, but I don't think I timed things right to be pregnant (took awhile before I was in the mood after everything happened, and I just think I was too late in my cycle to have conceived). I kind of wish we had just prevented though so I can just get a period and get back to normal before I start the hoping and waiting for BFP. Now you have me wondering if my HCG ever did go down?

Hi MrsWhite.

Well I think I got my period last Tuesday, but I don't know how to be sure? The nurse at my doctor's office seems to think that's what it is too. I never stopped spotting from the mc though, so it's all so confusing. :/ My hcg was 7 last Tuesday when "period" started and yesterday it was 4. It sure is taking it's sweet time to go down! But my flow is very heavy right now, and it's been a week . They said if it's still heavy tomorrow to call and maybe they'll do tests? I'm not sure. I know af after miscarriage can be different than before, so maybe that's why it's so heavy/long. Just ready for this all to be over!

I really hope you get your bfp soon! :) And is your son's birthday today? Happy birthday to him!

That ticker must just stop at 2 years old! He is 3 and a half. Thanks though! Lol :) Good luck to you, hope you get your BFP soon!!! Wouldn't that be a merry Christmas?

Thank you! Yes, it would be the best. :) If this truly is AF, I should ovulate by late weekend/early next week and could get a bfp by Christmas. https://babyandbump.momtastic.com/images/smilies/eusa_pray.gif

Wanna hear my weird experience with Hcg returning to zero? It took me 14 weeks for my Hcg to get down to "less than 3", which is what my doctor considers "zero".
Yes, 14 weeks! It was forever!

But, I think somewhere mid-way I stopped worrying about what my levels were, because I had 3 very clear AF/ovulation cycles during that 14 weeks. I still got normal periods and ovulated before my Hcg cleared out. My Hcg was declining the whole time, just super sonic slow.

Good luck, tcinks!

My last one was definitely AF, despite having postive hcg. I'm now on my second and my count is definitely at or very close to 0 (neg pg tests), and apparently, my cycle length changed, so I missed my ovu window. Like you, we're now hoping for a Christmas baby!

have tried to find info on this, unsuccessfully.

dec 7th: 6939 (bleeding started - was supposed to be 9+3 but baby measured 7+2)
dec 8th: miscarried
dec 9th: 2501

dec 18th: 102

dec 22nd: 38

so, two weeks post miscarriage i'm at 38, but the urgent care told me they really do like to test it until it gets to zero. i am curious about what my levels are, and insurance covers it, so i don't mind doing it, but if i'm not having cramps, or bleeding (the bleeding actually stopped after 6 days) or any other worrisome symptoms, is there a medical reason to keep getting blood tests done?

i'm curious when to expect ovulation or AF but we are waiting until march to try again so not really concerned for any active ttc. i have an appointment with OB tomorrow for a miscarriage follow-up and i have been really disappointed and frustrated with the care i've gotten in the OB department, so i kind of want to arm myself with information to stand up for myself, if necessary.

They tested me to 11 and told me not to worry about the rest unless I developed heavy bleeding. I was told, and I quote, "Don't come back until you're pregnant again." They typically test to 3, but got sick of months of testing, I suspect!

Took me 8 weeks post Mc to finally get AF. I never ovulated before my first AF. 9 weeks to get a negative pregnancy test, so hcg under 10 as I had extra sensitive tests. Hoping I ovulate this cycle!

I had an ectopic pregnancy that took a long time to get my body regulated afterward.
Here were my dates:

Sep 5: BFP
Sep 14: Miscarriage diagnosed after doctor's appt (HCG 151--way too low). Only diagnosed through blood tests; no bleeding.
Oct 9: Rushed to ER in severe pain; ectopic diagnosed. Got a methotrexate shot.
Oct 12-16: Bleeding (assuming this was the completion of the miscarriage and not an actual period)
Nov 8: AF began (so approx. 8 weeks after the miscarriage).

I wasn't tracking temps or ovulation during October due to the methotrexate shot, so I'm not sure if I ovulated before Nov 8.
