I had my baby boy 5 weeks 2 days early and he's 3 weeks tomorrow,we were in hospital 10 days but I'm still so tired and no energy

I just answered a similar question on this thread.

It varies from person to person. I started feeling better at 3 weeks but if I did anything big - like a full house clean, long walk or even food shopping, I would feel really tired after. Just take it easy and accept help when its offered. You will feel yourself before you know it. Also, its very important to eat reguarly to keep your energy levels up. Think about all that repair work your body has to do now!!

I came home on day three and I felt totally normal and pretty much pain free...

I did everything I would have done since then and I feel fine now at 5 weeks pp... Everyone's different ... Hope u feel better soon

I think a lot of it is down to been in hospital 10 days where was so noisy and when I could rest people were in and out of my room

That definitely would make a massive difference!!!

Everyone said I should stay in hospital as long as I could but I refused and went home after two days... It's bad enough ur adjusting to a new baby but then a crap bed that's uncomfy... And all the other noises and people and interruptions...sucks when you don't have a choice and have to stay...

No wonder your still tired!!!

Don't worry it will come just try and nap lots when lo does if u can and recharge

Being in a hospital is not a fun experience and is tiring to begin with. I was in the hospital for 3 nights with my LO after he was born and I barely got any sleep with the nurses constantly coming in, breastfeeding, etc.. it's definitely not like home and can make a massive difference in how you feel all around. If you were in there 10 days, I can't imagine how tiring it would be. It definitely takes a toll on you!

I don't think I fully "got over" my c-section until probably 2-4 weeks after having my LO. I was still in pain, I could barely move at times, etc.. my doctor gave me the OK to drive at 2 weeks PP, but I still didn't feel 100% and didn't.

So many changeable factors! My first one I felt mostly normal and paracetamol level pain after 5 days, totally better by a month. This last one I felt like I was dying and couldn't move or sleep for 3 weeks, and mostly normal except exercising by 3 months. Now at four months pp I have paracetamol level achey pain in my wound every few evenings, but otherwise fine.

Try taking a multi-vitamin (if you haven't already) and iron (sounds like the C-section got a lot of blood out of you). If you can try a gentle stroll and some sunshine. Slowly work your way into introducing new activities as you feel up to it. Doing that should help some, but still may be tired for a month or so. First C-sections usually are kinda tiresome. Maybe even ask your dr for some sugguestions.

I'm 2 weeks post c section and still feel pretty rough. I did similar in hospital to you beforehand and I think that has definately made it harder:hugs: My boys still in NICU so the constant back and forth as well as pumping every 3 hours has made for exhausted:sleep: Plus bedrest for near 5 months while pregnant means my muscles can barely function anyway.

This is my second section (also had 3 vaginal deliveries which were a walk in the park compared). My first was planned for a preavia and recovery was much faster as I was fitter, there I did plenty gentle exercise and rested where I could:hugs:

its been 10,5 month.. and I still think about it almost all day.. I'm not over it and I still cannot accept it. Everyone is different though... I just feel like everything was taken away from me... Has more to do with previous things as well. Nothing ever went the way I wanted so this c section thing was just too much to handle. Hopefully you will cope soon. 5 weeks is still early as you are very tired like you said. Just find some support because you will need it. The reason Im still not over it is because I have absolutely no one to talk to and who can understand me or who at least is interested in it...

if you ever want t o talk please message me, ive gone through the mill with breast feeding issues and its be good to talk it through, id hate to think that you feel this way with no one to express it, my c section was on the card for a month before so i was prepared for it, but can completely understand how it would feel to have to much taken from you beyond your control

I am 2 months post op and have to say I am finally feeling like myself again. It has been a long hard road to recovery for me. Take it easy on yourself and try not to rush and do things too fast. I promise you will feel like a human again soon.....well sort of like a human ;)

I had my son 3 weeks ago today and I'm just starting to feel semi normal. Mostly tired, run down, not to mention the stress of him being in the NICU isn't making it any easier.
