I think it all depends on the person, I never needed it until well after breastfeeding was established and it still worked great for me. I can't remember now when exactly I took it first but it was coming close to 1yr...def atleast 6mo in though. And I used it occasionally up until about 15mo But I guess it all depends on the person

I bought mine a Vitamin Shoppe...any vitamin store, health food store like Whole Foods, Sprouts, Wild Oats...they should have it too.
