How long does it REALLY take to TTC - the truth, let's hear it

DD#1 4 months TTC
DD#2 1 month TTC (bd only 1 time)

Angel 1 month TTC (bd only 1 time)

Current pregnancy 5 months TTC, but mainly due to bad timing as DH works away.

Good luck ladies <3

My first pregnancy wasn't planned and just happened. Ended in miscarriage at 6 weeks. The second took us 3 years. Was on Clomid with for one month and fell pregnant.

We are TTC #2 and have been doing so for only 3 months. Still nothing.

Ladies thank you all for sharing ! Wow I didn't know it could vary for an individual woman between 19 months and 1 month for TTCs... Sometimes it seems TTC#1 takes the longest and sometimes it seems TTC#2+ takes longer...
When we failed to conceive in our honeymoon we were stumped, you always think it's a walk in the park until you start trying eh?... Reading women's stories really offered me so much support...

Tell us your story and how long is your journey, we wanna hear it !

Wow 3 years, you're quite the soldier aren't you? How did you cope!

Sounds abit wierd but we were only having unprotected sex once a month, always around my fertile period and I got pregnant on the third month so i was very lucky and quite shocked! sadly ended in miscarriage just before 6 weeks. I have no idea how long it will take me to get pregnant again, hubby wants to wait 3-5 months but its really impossible to know how long it will take this time round (obviously)
How long do most people wait after miscarriage to start trying again and how quickly did they fall? x x x

Ive heard all sorts, you are best looking on the TTC after a loss section.

My baby died on the 5th of this month and i had a ercp (missed miscarraige) on the 7th. We are TTC again on Friday (had to wait to finish my anti-biotics). some poeple leave it awhile before TTC again and some straight away. there doesnt seem to be any medical reason to wait unless you are having repeacted miscarriages.

I know quite a few people who have fallen within 6 months of there Miscarraiges, but there does seem to be a few who struggle to get pregnant again. its difficult to say. but it does seem that you are pritty likley to conceive just as easiely as you did before.

after my mmc it took 15months, hope it doesnt take that long for you.

Hi Ladies

I'm onto month 11 of TTC  But had a year of NTNP before that so can say 2 years really, which is what's really worrying me. I am 36 though so am convinced it's all down to my age

I am, like an earlier poster said, amazed to see that the length of time can vary in the same woman. Just goes to show doesn't it, we can just never tell. I don't know why but I've always had a feeling I'd take a long time with the first but for some reason think I'll then fall easily with a second  Just a feeling I have. Ready for my first to come now though :growlmad:

Oh, and all my friends seem to conceive, if not the very first month, within two or three :growlmad: x

Been trying 6 months now. I will update when we get a bfp!

Im currently on month 8 ttc but my identical twin sister has just found out shes expecting after just 1 month! lucky so and so!
Im only 26 and my DH is 29, both stressed up to our eyeballs, so i hope this is the reason its not happened for us as quickly!

8 months ttc for me and counting (hopefully for not much longer....fx)

On 2nd cycle trying now...will update when I get my bfp!
Most of my friends and work colleagues seem to get pregnant within the first 3 months! I hope I'm the same as them ;)

We just started TTC for our first (on our 2nd month), so I didn't vote but I can tell you about my BFF. She never had a normal period, sometimes it came once or twice a year and in various lengths. Women in her family had trouble conceiving so everyone warned her to start early. She even went to the doctor to record their TTC date in anticipation for intervention. But she got preggers in about 2 - 3 months! She was 31 years old.

With my first, 1 month.

With my second, 3 months and counting.

We have been TTC for 1 year and 1 month. It is unexplained fertility so far (1st FS next week). I suspect a few factors though effecting my chances, almost 39, overweight and stressful job as a teacher.

We were lucky 2nd cycle the first time and 3rd cycle second time.

We are starting to TTC again this cycle so fingers crossed it will happen as quickly as before as we are not getting any younger at 34!!:flower:

10 months and still trying. I'm 32 and husband is 29. His SA came back fine. I haven't gone for any tests yet. Every month is full of hope and then let down. It's such a roller coaster ride. Hoping that magic month is coming soon!

It's so true, we are stressed to our eyeballs and it does feel like a roller coaster ride...

Tell us more journeys, we wanna hear it !
