I'm thinking way ahead!

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and just wondering what products do you use for playing in the bath? Without the bathroom becoming their playroom like every room in your house probably!

Also how long do you let them play then wash before getting out? Do you top the water up etc to keep them warm?

i've never topped water up. Bathtme can be anything from 5 minutes to 25 minutes really dependinghow mch fun they're having and how tired they are. We just have a rack that sits scross the bath tat is full of toys, so a few wind up swimming ones, some squirty ones and the favourite is the floating xylophone (don't buy ELC one though as more than twice the price as the one in Matalan and pretty much identical)
When they were a baby then it would literally be 15 minutes in the water, getting dry and dressed inclusive with no playtime as such

Tom's usually in for 20 mins or until the water starts to get cold, he's got rubber animals and we usually wash him first.

he prefers playing with the bubbles :cloud9:

Bath and getting dressed takes an hour but I have two. Eek at running got water when they are in the bath a big no no IMO it's quite cool at the end but they don't seem to mind. Don't spend a fortune on toys empty (or full if they get their hands on them) shampoo bottles are the best bath toys it would appear.

Anything that squirts or winds up too xx

Bathtime for us generally takes between 15 and 45 min depending on how much time we have. We are bathing two at once.

We have 4 squirty boats, a wind up toy and three floaty things. We keep them in a 'top & tail' tub that we bought but never used - we keep the toys in one side and things like sudacrem, talc and wipes in the other side.

Tom loves the bath, he could spend all day in it!!!.... The only way we can get him out is by letting the water out!!!

He doesn't have many toys in there though, as vicky says, shampoo bottles and bubbles are the best toys!

Dec's bathtime will usually last about 30mins or until the waters starts going cold. He has sticky bath letters/numbers, squirty guns, a little washing machine, measuring jugs and he usually takes a load of cars and soliders in with him to :)

thanks ladies :)

Just want to get a genral idea thats all also wanted to ask what did you use when LO grew out of the baby bath and was going into the main bath?

I've been given a blow up bath so it's practical and can't wait for when Peanut arrives at Christmas and the fire is on downstairs!

Also thinking of the odd baths with me or OH when we're both in the house :)..

When Dec out grew his baby bath we just used a bath seat in the big bath, I think we used his baby bath until he was about 3 months then we just held him in the big bath fro a few weeks, but it started to get dangerous as he was a wriggler so we bought a little bath seat which he used from about 3.5/4 months :)

Tom stayed using his baby bath until he was about 10 months old - he wasn't very wriggly though and sat from 5 months so we never needed to use a bath seat.

His baths now are usually about 10 to 15 mins but can be more or less depending on how tired he is. He has some squirters and jugs to pour the water and bubbles. He mainly loves splashing us though!

Once my eldest grew out of the baby bath i had him in the bath we me until he was sitting on his own safely. Then i just put him in the bath - i never used any sort of mat or anything.
DD only used the baby bath a few times - it was easier having her in the bath with me so i just did that. Then i started her in the bath as above.
