Hi,
Hya i'm not really a newbie as have been floating around for a while just don't post very often :o(

I have been trying to concieve for over 2 years, with problems on his side and endo and damaged tubes on my side. We have been confirmed that the NHS will fund our first 2 IVF attempts and are now just waiting to hear when our appointment with the clinic will be.

I was wondering if anyone would have any idea how long it would be to getting the appointyment to actually trying for IVF? I've had every test and blood test done so was wondering if they would accept previous test results or if they tend to start again?

Thanks

It totally depends on the clinic you are referred to and the referring PCT

I am funded by Kingston PCT and have 1 ICSI treatment funded, based at Queen Marys in Roehampton, Referred in Nov 2009, 1st appt Feb 10, all tests HSG / another SA and all bloods again, then 2nd appt May 2010. Now have appt Aug and hope to start treatment around Oct 2010...so all a bit drawn out, i know of others who have been referred and treatment within 4 months of referral in the london area and even quicker outside of London. But some also wait up to 2 years and longer....

You could ring the hospital you have been referred to and ask them to give you an idea of when you might be able to have treatment?? Def take a copy of any results you may have had with you, they won't need to repeat most of them

Good luck x

Hey

I'm also with Dilly at QMs in Roehampton.

I got my GP referral September 2008 and had my first appointment with the FS November 2008 - they conducted more tests and a more intrusive SA. In Feb 2009 we were put on the waiting list and we started our long protocol cycle in March 2010.

It all varies from PCT to PCT but your treatment/weight/health/results all affect the length of wait as well.

Good luck x

Thanks for replying.

I've also been referred To Queen Marys for IVF. I was originally under Guildford Hosp at their unit but they dont have an IVF clinic so now been transferred out to Queen Mary's. I just wondered as have had all the investigatory work done and thought it might be a slightly quicker route to IVF - obviously not though.

Got the first appointment now though and will be in October so something to count down to at least.

Good luck at QMs Hun and always ring for cancelled appts as u might get in quicker!

Hope all goes well for you there x

It does depend on your PCT, mine isnt funding and have not been since august last year and since being referred for IVF in December I have YET to see anyone!!

I have heard that funding will be over 2 years so we are in for a long wait.. God i hate the NHS and we wait for that long for 1 cycle, what a nightmare i dont think i will be waiting that long no wonder ladies end up paying private.

Good luckx
