Hi ladies :flower:

I'm new to this section, my OH and I have been TTC for 13months now and i'm starting to wonder if everything is in working order. I'm thinking of going to the doc next week to see.

I was just wondering how long you ladies were ttc before you went to the doc?
And how long were you TTC before you classed yourself as LTTTC?

Hope you dont mind me asking :hugs:

hey doodle bug - stumbled across this and thought I'd say hi. Although I dont yet consider myself LTTC I am currently on cycle 8 and I'm already frustrated. For some reason (I hope Im being paranoid) i can just neer envision that "BFP" moment. Im so sick of seeing pregnant bellys everywhere.

I hope everything goes well for you at the docs. I have heard so many people that have tried for well over 13 months and have conceived naturally when they least expected it. I know its easier to say it than believe it but I hope you get your BFP soon x

Thank you wintergirl. I know that in the grand scheme of things 13 month isnt really that long but I think I have just reached the point where I want to know if its at least possible. It feels like its never gonna happen :dohh:

It depends how old you are. If you are still young some GPs will expect you to try for 18months-2years before they will start tests etc. If you are older 6months to a year is normal.

Have you been using OPKs and/or temping so that you are defo TTC at the right time?

The LTTTC section is normally ladies who have been TTC for at least a year.

I noticed on here that lots of ladies got pg on cycle 16 for some reason - so stick at it and good luck. :dust:

I'm 25, OH is 26. I have been using opk's on and off, I never really seem to get a positive one tho

I wouldn't wait to call the doctor. We have been ttc since last February and went to the doctor after 12 mos to find out that we have almost no chance of concieving on our own due to extremly low sperm count and motility. Now, we have to go for IVF. I would go to make sure that evrything checks out because trying to no avail is too emotionally taxing to do if you can go and try to get an answer. I am 26 dh is 27. I would also suggest that you start temping. Baby dust:)

I got pregnant on our first month trying but had a M/C then after about 7 months of intense TTC for another and it not happening, I had a HSG which was clear and DH has a SA which was not good, low count and motility. now its been 3 years of trying for us.

I think if its been more then 12 months of good timed attempts that have all failed its a good idea to get testing done.

Hey doodlebug,

DH and I have been trying since Dec 2010 with no joy yet. I've considered myself LTTTC once we hit the 12 month mark. We went to the doctor then and they found nothing wrong with me and DH had 3 SAs done (one we're still waiting on) and nothing seriously problematic is wrong with him either. They say they are baffled as to why we haven't conceived, and that we are doing everything right including the charts, vitamins, and a healthy active lifestyle...so they suggested going to a fertility clinic but since we are moving out of country soon, we won't make an appointment until we are settled in our new place.
I don't know what the guideline is to classify oneself as LTTTC, but for me, going on cycle #16 is long-term enough for me!

best of luck to you with the doctors and baby dust!

I would try temping (https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1f6cd3) and do the opks for a couple of cycles. Start testing early in your cycle and if you have the cheapies sometimes try twice a day in case you are missing OV. If you still don't get a positive I would defo go docs and ask for CD21 blood test.

Hi all,

We've been trying for over two years now. Just been to the doctors this week and been given an appointment to go to the ARU in our local hospital.

I so hope that something positive comes from this as the past two years have been a roller coaster of emotions and I would so love for something more hopeful later this year.

Good luck to everyone.

me and the OH are both 29. I will probably go to the docs if we get to the 1 year mark and nothing has happened. The whole idea scares me a bit. I know I shouldnt feel like that but it does.

Sorry to be reading about some of the problems you lovely ladies are experiencing. I hope you all get your BFP's soon.
x
