How many bottles a day for 3 week old?

Hi

My son is 3 weeks and has a 3oz bottle He will drink 2oz in one go sleep for around 45-hour then drink the rest. He will then sleep after wake up after 45 minutes and want another one. This continyes all day. Im forever making bottles. If I was bf I wouldnt be able to keep up! How many 3oz bottles should he have a day. Been thinking I should space them out but then Ive read to feed on demand but hes always feeding.

Anyone else experiance this? x

About 14, i literally make up bottles all day
Finley is 5 weeks now and is still on that amount, he drinks anything from 1-4oz at a time, sometimes he will drink 4oz, then half a hour later want 1oz, then a hour later 2oz, then 2 hours later 3oz, then 1 hour later 1oz.. we literally go on like this all day, makes going out abit tricky lol.

Does he feed to sleep? You could try burping him after say 1.5oz to try and wake him up a bit, or changing him half way through the bottle, to see if he'll take the full 3oz and get a better sleep x

According to the tin Eddy should be having 6 x 4oz feeds per day (or 24 in a 24 hour period. This is based on the average 2-4 week old weighing roughly 9lb on SMA 1)

Eddy has other ideas and is roughly drinking 42oz a day in the form of 7 x 7oz bottles of which he drinks at least 6oz. He feeds roughly every 3 hours and is on Medium flow teats. I have no idea what he weighs as I haven't weighed him since his 2 week check but he maintained his birthweight the at 10lb 14oz so he could be anything up to about 12lb I guess by now.

Every baby is different. I would try as the PP said and try waking him half way through. If he's struggling to get milk out it may be the flow is too slow so you need to try a faster flow to keep him interested and not tire him out. Eddy was taking 30 minutes to drink 4oz - now he's got 6-7oz down to 15 minutes.
