How many bottles per day at 7 months old?

Ethan will be 7 months in a weeks time and is still taking 5 - 6 bottles a day. He will only take on average about 5oz per bottle but I am having real bother weaning him, he is not interested at all in food. I was speaking to my Sister this morning and she said he is having way too many bottles and the reason he isn't eating is because he is so full from his milk. That totally makes sense to me but I don't want to drop bottles incase he won't eat, arrgg this weaning business is totally stressful. I feel like I am doing everyting wrong

Omar is on 3 bottles (4-6 oz ) since he was 6.5 mnths. At this age they need 18-21 oz with 3 solids to get the nutrients they need frm formula, but if he takes more it's ok. As for weaning, did u try offering him solids before bottles? We started proper weaning at around 6.5 mnths & Omar was on 3 meals at 8 mnths. Until now he still skips meals. R u TW or BLW? with BLW babies dont eat much at 1st & they need the extra milk to give them nutrients & they will start dropping feeds once they start eating more. With TW it's trial & error until u find what ur LO likes. I spoon feed but only real food & it really helped (Omar hated all puree & baby food). At 6.5 mnths we started offering him frm what we'r eating by giving him tastes & wait for his reaction to each different type of food, then spoon feed him from what he likes. At 7 mnths we stopped the mashing. xx

Thank you so much! We are TW to try and help his reflux, we've been doing it now for about 6 weeks I think and he is just not interested. I was pureeing everything though and giving him stage 1 jars. Maybe I should just start giving him mashed food like you did. Did you find Omar was more interested in food like that? xx

He liked it much more as it has more flavor. pasta with sauce is good for starting, u can over cook it at 1st. My advise, dont panic if ur LO gags or throw up it's very common for babies with reflux to throw up solids when they gag, it takes a while until they can have more control on their gagging reflexes. Omar stopped throwing up while gagging (which used to happen occasionally as he's good with lumps) at 9 mnths. Good luck hun xx

my lo is 7 months on wednesday and hes on three a 8oz a 5oz and a 9oz before bed x
