I've already had 2 but we wanted a bigger family. My doctor didn't give me a clear answer when I asked her about it. Has anyone had more than 3 and had no complications?

I would say your doc didn't give you a clear answer, because there is no clear answer. There are lots of women who have 4,5 even 6.. but there are several factors, how long in between sections, how did your uterus wall behave,ie was it thin around your scar?

I hear lots of women's docs say 3... but if your uterus has been strong and not thinned too much then your chances are better.

I am currently scheduled for section 3, although I've had uterus issues, I had a baby attach to my scar 2 years ago, I miscarried and my uterus almost ruptured... so they say it's like I've already had 4 or 5 sections. My uterus has behaved but they are sectioning me early at 38 weeks, and I have had a lot of anxiety towards the end about possibly rupturing and the risk associated with leaving my 2 DS's that I already have with out a mom...

I know when I was looking into the strength of my uterus, I actually went and got copies of my hospital records from my 2 previous sections, to see if there had been any notes in my file about my uterus being "thin" .. .there wasn't, which helped in my decision to have 1 more.

Good luck in your decision! I would suggest doing lots of research and ask your doc lots of questions.

it's different everywhere,
I've had 2 and having my 3rd next month, my hospital don't like doing more then 3 and I've been strongly advised not to have anymore children after this one. which is fine by me and hubby, he has an appointment to get the snip in December.

Ive had 2 and pregnant with baby number 3. The consultant has strongly advised me to be sterilised at the same time as my next section and not have anymore babies. I've never (that I know of) had any problems with having previous sections.

I've Also had 2 and having my 3rd december , like pp my consultant has adviced Me against having anymore children so I will be sterilised while having my csection :) which is fine by me as me and OH only wanted 3 anyway x

I've just had my 4th cesarean. After my 3rd the consultant told me I had lots of adhesions and that I may struggle to conceive again. However during my last cesarean the consultant (different to my last one) said I didn't have many adhesions. My first cesarean was an emergency at 42 weeks, then I had a planned cesarean at 39 weeks. My 3rd cesarean was bought forward to 38 weeks as I kept getting pain across my scar and my last cesarean I had at 35 weeks as I started contracting and getting severe scar pain. They did advise me this time to have my tubes tied as with any more surgeries they will be an increased risk of rupture. Having my little girl in special care has put me off having anymore and with what the doctors are saying I wouldn't risk it. I know a few women who have had 4, 5 and even 6 cesarean and I think its down to how your body heals and how your uterus copes with the pregnancy. Good luck with your decision

I've had 4.. After the last I was told everything looked great and a 5th would be fine if I decided to have another (which I'm not lol) x
