How many rounds of ivf have you been through?

Just adding in my stats for the record --
I got my BFP with twins on my third IVF attempt.
We were lucky to have 3 goes on the NHS, but we were starting to get worried about what next if the last one didn't work out.

So so glad that things worked out for us bang on stats!!

:)

Just wanted to drop my 2p's worth in. I've had one cancelled cycle so far and am due to start round 2 very soon!!

I don't know if everybody would consider a cancelled cycle a failed attempt but I do because I certainly felt like a big fat failure! DH and have decided we will have 3 goes this year and financially it will cripple us, but we don't see the point in having nice cars, a nice house etc if you don't have anybody to fill it up with.

At the minute, we aren't even on the NHS IVF waiting list as they haven't investigated that far. We went private becaUse I'd be 70 by the time the NHS get us anywhere!

aiwah that is amazing, well done you! To go thru 3 rounds and be blessed with twins! RU having bad MS at the moment??

Mrs R - my first cycle was cancelled, so my PCT definitely counted that as one attempt! We were gutted, but they said that was the rules and we had to move onto no 2, even though we hadn't even got to egg collection. Good luck with your treatment!

My NHS journey took about 3 years altogether, but now they've reduced IVF waiting lists from 18 months to 18 weeks, it should be a lot quicker now.

Thanks Aphrodite - I'm suffering from severe nausea and tiredness, but thankfully no full-blown vomiting (Sorry TMI). Doc has been kind and signed me off for as long as I need!

:)

Hello,

I was wondering, for those of you who have undergone more than one IVF cycle, how long do you have to wait between cycles?

Between fresh cycle and FET?

Between fresh cycles?

I'm about to embark on my first cycle. In the back of my mind, I'm hopeful but I'm a realist and know that it could take me more cycles. Just wanted to know how many cycles I'd be able to get in per year...

Hey pear,

Well its usually 3 months between fresh cycles, they need to really let your homrones and ovaries recover. They could do it sooner but not recomended. Basically the period you would get when you fail a cycle (the dreaded BFN period) would be classed as 1 then you would have 1 natural cycle as well as a review of hte "stats" then you would have a nother cycle but hopefull start again on day 21 of the next cycle. Does that make sense, if not i will write an example. If you are lucky enough to have frosties (remember only 1 in 5 couples are!!) then you can do a frostie cycle after you have had a natural bleed not including the BFN bleed

Hope this helps, ask away if i have confused you

I've only had to wait two months between goes, but I didn't actually go through the whole process. Was cancelled after the stims

Also lucky first cycle for us with ICSI after 4 failed IUIs... we have male factor too.. MIracles do happen! Good luck hun xxxx:hugs:
