How many weeks before EDD are you leaving work?

I was signed off sick however as I was only entitled to SSP (£81 per week) I decided to go back on reduced hours which I then found a struggle therefore I made the decision to start my maternity leave early. They were happy either way and throughout the whole process were nothing less than compassionate. Its nice that you were on full pay whilst on sick but unfortunately some of us arent that lucky!

I was 30 weeks wi my 1st as i was so uncomfortable an in a lot of pain sittin for too long!

I'm due on February 19th and my leave starts on January 30th, although I am having a c section between 7th and 12th February so I'll be finishing work potentially only 8 days before I have the baby.

I'd rather have as much time as possible off after the birth to spend with the baby.

With my daughter I had also planned to finished 2 weeks before my due date but I was signed off sick at 32 weeks and remained off for the rest of my pregnancy.
My midwife then told me that she actually recommends women finsh no later than 32 weeks as it's after that time you begin to really 'feel' the pregnancy and get really tired. I plan to try to struggle on no matter how uncomfortable I get unless I end up signed off with my back again which I'm hoping I don't as I couldn't do anything at all last time but this time I have my daughter to look after too!
